I read this book when I was younger, after seeing a movie of it on TV. I cried when I read it, just as I cried at the end of the movie. I reread the ending a couple of weeks ago, and I cried again, even though I knew what was coming.
This book was made into a Hallmark TV movie (which I loved) and led me to the book (which I loved even more). It is the story of Mary White, the daughter of William Alan White, the famous newspaper editor of the early 20th century from Emporia, Kansas.
