    2. Second book in Novak's The Last Stand series. I'm giving it the same rating as the first book, 4-stars, but I liked it more than the first one. While the first one was borderline 3-4 stars, this one solid 4 stars.Like the first book, this one focuses on The Last Stand victims support organization and the three women who founded it. This book features Jasmine Stratford. Sixteen years earlier, her little sister was kidnapped while Jasmine babysat her, completely destroying her family. The sister w [...]

    3. 3 ½ stars. If you’re in the mood for romantic suspense, this is pretty good, a little better than average. There were a couple of weak places, but acceptable. I think it’s fine to have a trusted person turn-out to be bad, but here it happens more than once which bothered me a little. Probably because I recently read another book by this author that had many cops, mayor, and others - supposedly good but in truth were bad guys. She used the surprise of many bad guys as a way to create mystery [...]

    6. 4 solid stars for the second book in the Last Stand series. I always hate leaving the characters of one book behind when I start another book. It is definitely no different when I'm reading a series. I always hope to find glimpses of the previous characters in the next book of a series. I did get that glimpse, just a glimpse, like in a couple of phone conversations. I wanted more, but quickly got into the new story and then the new characters took over. In this series, the characters of the seco [...]

    7. Good ReadAs a guy, I don't really care for all the romance in my novels, but many in the reading audience do want those moments with their characters. With that said, the story was suspenseful at times and keeps you interested long enough to want more. You start to wonder if Jasmine will ever find out what happened to her sister. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys reading cold cases.

    8. Book # 2 of the series kept me on the edge of my seat. Starting book #3 series is awesome. Brenda is an excellent author

    9. The book started out OK, although I was hesitant to read it because I learned from the previous book that the main character in this one had psychic abilities. I normally don't read books with psychic aspects in them just because they get weird, and quite frankly I like when people solve puzzles without freaky mind powers.I ended up liking Jasmine, even with her gobbledegook powers. She wasn't always "reading" things, but she did crawl into Romains dream which I felt was a huge invasion of his t [...]

    10. I enjoyed how dark this book was and the New Orleans/swamp setting was a neat location. The setting just seemed to make everything creepier. I thought the romantic leads had a lot of depth in this book and I loved the love story aspect of it. Unfortunately, there were two plot aspects that were extremely unbelievable to me which really had the effect of pulling me out of the story.1) I liked the psychic aspect of the story but I found it incredibly unbelievable that someone could become a profil [...]

    11. Just as I finally got over the creepiness of Hanover House, I turn around and read Save Me. Although I do admit to guessing THE identity fairly quickly, there were a lot of twists and turns to make me doubt my decision. The romance is sweet which is something I never thought I'd say about this author's books, but the romance was a sideline to the story itself so it fit. So this book did not creep me out nearly as much as Hanover House but it was a good read and read quickly. Now I just need to g [...]

    12. This book was just as good as the first one in the series, Trust Me. Lots of twists and it held my attention til the end. A great read!

    13. I loved this book just like all the ones in The Last Stand series. This was the second one about Jasmine Stratford who is looking for her sister’s killer. Jasmine sister has been missing for 16 years and she feels guilty because her sister was kidnapped when she was supposed to be babysitting her. She gets a package with her sister bracelet anonymously that has her going to New Orleans where she runs into Romain Fornier who’s daughter was kidnapped and murder by the man he thought he killed. [...]

    14. LAST STAND 2 - BRENDA NovakPenculikan anak-anak, pedofilia & adopsi ilegal juga dirty cop yang menjadi tema kejahatannya. Hero/ine-nya mengalami hal tersebut, 16 tahun lalu adiknya diculik ketika Jasmine sedang menjaganya. Orangtuanya menyalahkannya karena tidak mampu mengingat wajah si penculik, keluarganya berantakan, dia sendiri terjerumus narkoba tapi berhasil lulus SMA & mengambil kelas psikologi. 15. This is the second book in The Last Stand series and it was absolutely great. Jasmine Stratford was babysitting her little sister when the sister was kidnapped sixteen years ago. She never have up hope of finding her but the trail turned cold until she received a package in the mail that contained her sister's bracelet. The package led her to New Orleans and another kidnapping and murder that had happened four years ago. Romain Fornier thought he had killed his daughter's killer after his trial [...]

    16. A gripping, well written, complex story that grabbed me immediately. The characters, primary and secondary, are well developed and three dimensional. The attraction between Jaz and Romain was immediate and sizzling, continuing to grown in intensity. There are plenty of twists and turns that are very unexpected. I rated the story overall at 4.75 and assigned it a sexy rating of 5. I am on to book 3 in this series!

    17. O M G. That was something else. I’m soooo glad Jasmine had so much fight in her. That was just about the craziest thing I’ve read and the scariest my heart went to Romain and the trauma he endured by the hands of psychopaths. I have no sympathy for Beverly or her children they’re monsters just like Grober and HuffThe really sad part about all of this is, that all over the world this sort of sickness is really happening. This was an exceptional read.

    18. This Author can write a good story but her heroine in this series her super ridiculous ;They have no common sense especially given their history. They were victims either by association or directly in the past.but once they meet a hot guy/Hero from no where , then it’s ok to trust the random guy completely. Show up to his house uninvited and sleep on his bed and wear his clothes azy.

    19. this is a suspenseful riveting story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. So many twists and turns, so many tense filled moments. Romain and Jasmine enter into a challenging search for a murderer. This is one of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read. At times I felt as frightened as the characters. Fantastic read!

    20. OMG, what an awesome story! It is such an intense and exciting story. A page turner for sure. Brenda writes such wonderful books that you just can’t stop reading them and you don’t ever want to get to the last pi but you need to get there to get the ending! Such a dilemma. Thank you Brenda!

    21. A little slow in the beginning but then turned into one of the best books I have ever read!!! I curse the day I ever started reading Brenda Novaks books I have lost So Much Sleep!!! This book had me up till 5 A.M. Most defiantly a Great Read!!!!! I promise you!!

    22. A great series I started reading this series and can’t stop. Its different than most of her other ones. Suspenseful, nail biting with romance too. I highly recommend this. You won’t be disappointed.

    23. Great ReadMany twists to keep you reading through the night!!!! Great character development and story line. So excited to find out this is part of a series, and can’t wait to read the others.

    24. Stop MeI liked this story, it grabbed my attention immediately. I felt compassion for the characters and wanted to read more about them. There was suspense and joy. I can hardly wait to read more of this series.

    25. AwesomeHard to put down. Loved the story, suspense and kept you wondering. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

    26. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. It had suspense from the beginning so it captivated me from the start. The plot was good but a little predictable. Worth the read for sure.

    27. I obviously do not have an adequate respect for proper sleeping rituals. I’m obviously very good at convincing myself that “It won’t take long to finish the rest of this book.”But anyway…Jasmine Stratford’s younger sister was abducted sixteen years ago and never found; Jasmine was barely a pre-teen at the time. The incident tore her family up and forced Jasmine away from her former loving and warm home, wandering until she managed to get her life back together. And so now she’s a v [...]
