    1. Pudding up with Murder by Julia Buckley is a 2017 Berkley publication. A wonderful combination of mystery and romance-Lilah makes a ‘covered dish’ for her friend to serve at a birthday party for millionaire, Marcus Cantwell. Lilah attends the party with her adorable dog and meets the large, unusual, and the complicated Cantwell family. But, when Marcus keels over at his own party, it wasn’t from natural causes. Someone murdered him, and Lilah is afraid her pudding might have been the murde [...]

    2. My first read in this series was very enjoyable. A cozy mystery with a little romance and recipes too; a winning combination! I enjoyed the varied characters and the depth that their storylines and relationships brought to the overall story. I'm eager to pick up the first 2 books in the series.

    3. I would pud up with anything, even murder, to read a book written by author Julia Buckley!I once heard it said that “There is such a thing as too much of a good thing”. Okay, I don’t know who came up with that, but they never would have said it if they were readers if Julia Buckley. I’m here to tell you, when it comes to this author’s books, the phrase should have been “There’s no such thing as too much of a good thing”!The best of the batch so far, PUDDING UP WITH MURDER is a fa [...]

    5. I love this series and I am so excited to review this one! Love this book!Pudding Up With Murder is book three in a series about a young, head strong chef who has a handful of food based part time jobs, a large loveable dog and a new relationship. In this story it is almost Spring and love is in the air, but so is family drama. 6. Lilah Drake provides private catering to people in the town of Pine Haven who want to take credit for cooking a particular dish themselves, but either don’t have the time or the talent to do so. Discrete is Lilah’s middle name but that’s gotten her in trouble in the past and may cause potential problems in this new book. I love, love the premise of series. How clever to have someone cook a dish so that someone else can take credit?!?! And so many mentions of delicious dishes! It also gives [...]

    7. I am a fan of this author's Writer's Apprentice series and have heard good things about this series, so when Berkley surprisingly approved me for an ARC, I jumped at the chance to read this installment. While I normally like to start a series from the beginning, I didn't feel like I was missing out on too much by starting with the third book. I found this to be a well plotted story with a solid mystery that did not turn out as I expected. I enjoyed the characters and found them to be well rounde [...]

    8. This is the first book I've read in this series. I love the titles of the books and the covers are always so vibrant and fun to look at.Lilah Drake is a character that I can relate to. As the creator of undercover dishes, Lilah prepares mouthwatering food and others take the credit. When Lilah creates a spectacular dish for a party, it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, or killed.Lilah has an uncanny ability to sniff out the truth, and having her canine companion by her side makes it ev [...]

When she and her furry companion, Mick are invited to the birthday party of a millionaire who ends up in her rice pudding, she is stunned.Lilah cooks up a sweet new cinnamon rice pudding casserole for the birthday party of Marcus Cantwell, a wealthy man with three ex-wives and five grown kids. When he's found face down in her casserole, Lilah can’t bel [...]

    10. Couldn't finishTo be honest, I don't buy the whole undercover dish concept. You don't cook-- big deal. That is not a shameful character flaw.I found the main character to be judgemental, using the words strange and weird to describe the characters of a family she just met. Off putting for me.The dog was cute, but that was all.

    11. A romantic mystery, the third one in the Undercover mystery series and the second book by this author that I have read. I like this author 's writing very much. I become friends with the characters immediately and the felt that I was there. It can be read as a standalone and found the story complete. The backstory caught my attention and both books are high on my TBR pile. Lilah Drake and is a gourmet chef. One of the jobs is supplying mouth watering casseroles to hostesses who take the credit f [...]

    14. Lilah Drake’s latest venture into crime-solving is the perfect blend of mystery and romance--a recipe for sheer success. The eclectic blend of characters charmed me all the way, and the delicious, feel-good ending was the topping on the cake of this fast-paced cozy mystery.

    15. Registered on Bookcrossing - bookcrossing/journal/1I love this author and series! Lilah Drake is a fun, likeable, smart, sassy character. The other characters are interesting too. I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens with Lilah, her boyfriend Jay and her sweet dog Mick.

    16. It's probably the weakest book in the series - way too much with the relationship drama - but it's also maybe the last in the series (at least for now). So, forgiven?

    17. I love this series and this one is the best yet! Pudding Up With Murder is everything you could want in a cozy! Even if you haven't read the other two, you will have no trouble enjoying this one. Julia Buckley writes some of the best cozies out there. 22. This is the second book I have read in the series, but is the third one in the series. This book, like the others in the series, easily stands alone. I thoroughly enjoy the well-crafted plot, characters and descriptions. I also enjoy reading a book that is not under 150 pages. I get more pleasure learning about the characters and town when a writer takes the time to flush out the story and add details that make me feel like I’m there. Case in point, I really enjoyed the description of the book [...]

    23. In the beginning of the book we meet Lilah Drake whom is a cooking professional. She actually lets people take the food to events and act like they made it and let them get credit for it. She has a few jobs, she works in a restaurant, side jobs of her own and on a tv show with her ex-boyfriend. We promptly get to see when Lilah takes her friend Ellie some Rice Pudding for a birthday party for Ellie's neighbor Marcus Cantwell and dies. Most of the book is spent where Lilah is trying to figure it [...]

    24. Pudding up with Murder is a typically delightful Julia Buckley cozy mystery. The Undercover Dish Mystery series has warm characters who feel like neighbors and intriguing murders that never go the way one would expect. I enjoy the regular twist of Lillah's secret side business providing "homecooked" meals for people who don't have the time or talent or for those like Jay's mother who are not physically able to keep up with their famous cooking. There are some big twists at the end but the author [...]

    25. Just nope. Normalizes domestic abuse.Let me start by saying I did enjoy this book more than the previous books (it was hovering at 4 star material,) untilChapters 9/10 is a terrible example of relationships. Speeding to a house (using cop lights no less) because of a man's voice in the background? Critiquing outfit choices? Insane out of control and controlling jealousy? Quitting a job because of a jealous boyfriend? Having a friend suggestion do so? Nope, nope, nope, and nope. It's not healthy. [...]

    26. This book was just awful. I really hated the main character in this book and her mooning over Jay Parker. I'm over it. Plus, the "I love you" and the ridiculous worrying and then fight over it afterwards? Gag me with a spoon. The focus on Terry and Britt's relationship was stupid. I don't know why that was even necessary. The making out! Enough. I kid you not, adults were making out athis parents house on a couch. And, the fake being enraged over Jay Parker meeting with Angelo. STUPID. The main [...]

    27. I wanted to like this, but.1.) We did not need to know every single time he was mentioned that Jay's name was Jay Parker. And why does Lilah call him Parker so much? Annoying.2.) The borderline controlling/abusive behavior of Jay was disturbing. The fact that Lilah was willing to be his doormat was equally alarming.3.) The sex scene was horribly done and added absolutely nothing to the story. It made me feel incredibly icky.4.) I was pretty sure who the killer was the moment he was mentioned in [...]

    28. Murder & Romance! It's Spring & love is in the air, but so is murder. Lilah is a very talented chef. She has several different jobs. One as a chef for a catering company, another partners her with an ex-boyfriend on a cable cooking show, & the most interesting as a secret chef. It is that last job that brings her into contact with another murder. While Lilah is trying to figure out the killer, she is also dealing with several other issues, the biggest one a very jealous boyfriend. Lil [...]
