    1. A sincere and thoughtful narrative by the author of how he carefully examined his most heartfelt beliefs and found them to be false. A book that will resonate with believers and nonbelievers alike. An enjoyable read.

    2. Good reasoning, but I found myself surprised at his surprise as he examined the basics of his faith. It's as if he didn't go to seminary, or if he did, he hadn't paid much attention.

    3. Great book. Very thought-provoking. While many other atheist writers (Dawkins, Hitchens, etc) sound angry when they talk about religion, Ripley treats the subject with -- dare I say it -- a sacredness, knowing that he was once among the many that hold their faith incredibly closely. Recommended for anyone who wrestles with religion or is interested in theology.

    4. I expected more of "his side of the story" than a list of bible quotations and why they are / were critical to his deconversion.
