    1. It's been a while since I've read a romance that left me emotionally satisfied and made me think I'd read something original and genre-twisting, but Altman's romance certainly did. While the first and most obvious original aspect to her romance is the age difference between her hero at 28 and heroine at 39 (most unusual in rom), cleverly and subtly, while it's contentious, especially when it comes to having children, it isn't solely what keeps these two apart. Mainly, it's the heroine's emotiona [...]

    2. This is a great romance novel with two related story lines--well-written with very good descriptions and well-rounded characters. Will the two couples, a lady sheriff and a deputy, a dispatcher and the local librarian, all find a way to mend their damaged hearts?

    3. Third in the Castle Creek Romance series, we learn bits and pieces about why Sheriff Lily is so job-focused and commitment-averse, even to a man who tempts her from his first appearance in her office.Vaughn Fulton, however, is tasked with taking care of his late-great uncle's home and cleaning it out of the junk he'd collected to slow Vaughn's plan to simply put it on the market and go back to Erie where he hopes to make Detective. The mayor has a different idea, but no one knows why, although Va [...]

    4. Tempting the Sheriff by Kathy Altman was the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be the last. I found the story be very well-written, with many loved characters, who I wanted to know more about. Vaughn tempts Lily but he’s not the staying type. He has plans to ditch his job at the Sheriff’s department for becoming a detective in Erie. Can Lily tempt Vaughn into staying or will another heartbreak be in the cards for her?I loved both characters. Each vulnerable with trust is [...]

    5. Good Read. Heroine is in town to clear out his great-uncle's house that he inherited and get it on the market. He's on leave from his police job in Erie so he gets a job helping out the sheriff. Who is the heroine. She has a love-hate relationship with the mayor, who is really the County Executive Officer, but that's too hard to say. Anyway, the mayor twists her arm into taking on the hero. There's a lot of cute incidents-- I think they're supposed to be funny, but they're really not. But cute, [...]

    6. This is my first book to read by Kathy Altman, but it will not be my last. I loved this heart-breaking, at times, book about Lily and Vaughn. Lily has had to face an unimaginable horror and is still dealing with it. When Vaughn arrives as a temporary deputy, she fights her attraction. Does she succeed or fail? I won't leave any spoilers, so read and see for yourself. Kathy Altman does a fantastic job with the details on their calls. I also enjoyed reading about some of the other citizens. I know [...]

    7. Great story, loved the dual-plotlines. There were several characters that I wasn't familiar with since I hadn't read the other books in the series. It took me a second a couple times when I had to stop and think who they were. Well written story with believable characters. Lily & Vaughn were great together. I was surprised at the end.

    8. I loved the 2 romances going on in the book. Glad those 2 love birds came together in the end. I got this book to review. I loved the intense change of pace to other harlequins

    9. I really enjoyed this book by Kathy Altman. This is the first of her books that I have read and I won’t hesitate to pick up more of her stories. This is a great story of learning to live again after heartbreak and being able to listen to the heart over the mind. Even though this book is part of a series, I didn’t feel like I was missing out on the story. We learn enough about the other characters to want to go back and read their stories as well, but they don’t detract from the main story [...]

    10. I received this book through a giveaway. It was the first book I have read that was written by Kathy Altman, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you enjoy a clean romance, you will like this book. The story takes place in a small rural town in Pennsylvania where everyone knows what goes on with everyone else. The main character is Lily, the town's sheriff who finds love while trying to overcome a family tragedy. Even though the ending was a surprise it was a good ending.
