    1. My best friend loves to cook. She loves to experiment with recipes and dislikes baking because it seems to leave such little room for improvising. I’m the opposite; I love baking because it has such strict recipes and most of the time the oven and the chemistry of the recipe determines the outcome. This book reads like you’re sitting down with a new neighbor. She is from another area and grew up with the same main ingredients but her heritage or just the region in which she lived has her fam [...]

    2. Fancy brunch options for folks who don't want to pay fancy brunch prices.Slightly more high-maintenance than the average breakfast fare, but not so labor-intensive you just say "fuck it" and head out to wait in line at your favorite watering hole. Joy the Baker, renowned for her blog/website, knows how to curate a classy, tasty brunch. Breakfast foods are covered in great detail, including some things with bacon that sound so tasty I'm amazed they're not illegal. Cocktails and coffee, eggs, and [...]

    3. This is my favorite of Wilson's books. Though the others were more technical, I love a good boozy brunch and that's what most of these recipes are for (though you could use them at other times of day, too). Anyway, for me the omelet wheel and simple but fresh drinks were the highlights. I did feel that there could have been more pictures (like I really wanted to see what the spaghetti quiche is supposed to look like before I attempt it), and I felt oddly let down by the dessert/ baked goods chap [...]

    4. Had a wonderful mix of things you probably know how to make (think: sausage gravy) mixed with new more adventurous recipes (think: breakfast burgers or bacon and tomato gravy). Filled with beautiful pictures. Would be a great gift idea for a friend who loves breakfast and easy meals--fill a basket with some pantry essentials and add this book and you'd have a perfect gift.

    5. Excellent cook book for people who love brunch and breakfast foods! Sweet and savory recipes that you can make at home instead of going out for brunch every weekend. Beautiful photographs and fun recipes from one of my favorite food bloggers, Joy Wilson of Joy the Baker.

    6. There are some great egg recipes and cocktail recipes, but her other cookbook Homemade Decadence is much better.

    7. Sweet and funny Joy Wilson has served up another home run. I read this cookbook cover-to-cover before trying a single recipe, just because it was so entertaining. Now that I've tried several recipes (we had the Blueberry Sour Cream Waffles 3 times in 10 days), the book has become indispensable in my kitchen. If you are a breakfast, brunch, or breakfast-for-supper fan, you need this book in your life.

    8. I've already made the cranberry orange scones and the banana bread donuts. The photos are beautiful and the recipes are yummy and happy. The descriptions are well thought out, as well. You can tell Joy takes time and care perfecting her recipes.
