    1. Are you into the mysticism and stories of paranormal activity in the swamps and bayous of The South? I am and I really enjoyed this second installment Bayou Shadow. A bit about this story without giving away any spoilers but I hope to wet your appetite. Meet April Meadows, a woman in search of assistance but she has a hidden agenda and may have to use her lady bits to gain the trust of a Shadow Hunter? But, there are many players in this dangerous part of the world. Evil is around every corner a [...]

    3. As more is revealed about the unique characters featured in the Bayou Magic miniseries, I become further captivated by their abilities plus behavior. Anyone who is a shadow hunter faces danger on a regular basis, where these brave persons put the safely of others before their own time and again. The heroine in the second book may be very different from this group that fights spirits with evil intentions, but she is also courageous and does not easily back down when threatened. Cruel beings defin [...]

    4. Full review can be found here: kaitbooktopia/201Beginning: The beginning flowed great and the writing style was very nice. This is the second book of the Bayou Magic series, however, the series is full of standalone novels so I promise you will understand this book completely without reading the first book.Characters: April Meadows is the main female character. She is a Halfling meaning that she is part human, part fairy. But being both has been difficult for her and she struggles a bit adjustin [...]

    5. With the shadow hunters having defeated Nalusa, a knew threat has emerged. Hoklonote is not only a danger to the human realm but also the fairy realm. April, a fairy, comes to the human realm with the task to get the shadow hunters to help her and the fae defeat Hoklonote. She has watched and loved Chulah, a shadow hunter, since she was a little girl. But will April be able to convince Chulah and the other hunters that Hoklonote is a threat to all? After all, the fae are not to be trusted. With [...]

    7. Honestly it's been a day or two since I read it and a lot of the details are just floating away. Chulah Rivers hunts evil spirits and sends them on their way. April Meadows appears into his life and she knows a lot about him, his work and what happened the day his dad died. It's messy and complicated and the world seems somehow shallow but has potential.

    8. The cover hooked me, the blurb made me buy the book, and the story enchanted me. Two mystic creatures that come together to fight evil. A fantastic romance.

    9. The story of the Shadow Hunters and their quest to fight evil in the bayou continues. Bayou Shadow Protector is book 2 in this series, following the story of April Meadows and Chulah Rivers. We’ve met Chulah Rivers in Book 1 Bayou Shadow Hunter. He is Tombi Silver, book one’s main characters friend since childhood, his second in command. April Meadows is a fairy, a “Halfling” to be exact, part human and part fairy. She is sent to earth to convince the Shadow Hunters to help in the defeat [...]

    10. This is the second book in the Bayou Magic series and can be read as a standalone. It's just as magical and enticing as the first book "Bayou Shadow Hunter". Chulah is the second in command of the shadow hunters. He is a man of "not many words" but little escapes his sharp supernatural senses. April is half human and half fae. She is not treated very well by the faes because of her human side. She feels isolated and has a sense of "not belonging". When the faes are threatened by an evil spirit w [...]

    11. I was given an ARC in exchange for an HONEST reviewWhat do you get when you throw fairies into Native American lore? A Debbie Herbert masterpiece! Chulah Rivers is part of the ancient band of shadow hunters. He and his clan roam Bayou La Syrena keeping it safe from evil spirits. Unbeknownst to him he's had a Fairy looking over his shoulders in the form of April Meadows. April has known Chulah and watched over him since both were teens. She's fallen in love with him and is now tasked by the Fae C [...]

    12. Reviewed by Late Night Books and Reviews admin CharBayou Shadow Protector, the second book in the Bayou Magic Series, is a great romance set in Louisiana. It has a unique story-line that features will-o’-the-wisps, Hoodoo magic Native American lore and fairies. I love how the different types of legends and lore fit together perfectly. This book can be read as a stand-alone book, but I highly recommend reading Bayou Shadow Hunter first.April Meadows is a half fairy/half human sent on a mission [...]

    13. Chulah Rivers, shadow hunter, is used to strange happenings in the bayou. But when April Meadows appears out of nowhere, Chulah has a hard time believing. She also seems to know a lot about his past. He is understandably suspicious when she wants to help in a battle that will preserve both the human world and the Fae Realm. April has been sent to help in a coming battle. She is soon in over her head and only Chulah can save her. There were so many interaction between the characters which I think [...]

    14. Great storyLoved Chulah and April's story. April is half fae and humans. Raised in the fairy realm, unloved, abandoned as an infant by her parents. There is a traitor and the fairy realm is in danger. April is sent to convince the Hunters to capture the traitor and destroy the threat. April has been in love with Chulas for years. She has secretly been helping and protecting him since she unintentionally played a part in his fathers death. While Chula doesn't trust April and the fae, he is drawn [...]

    15. This is book two, but it is a stand alone. If you read book one you already know some of the characters, and if you thought Tombi was a sour puss, Chulah is worse. I absolutely LOVE April, I just want to give her a hug, and punch everyone that treats her bad. The chemistry between April and Chulah thoughOMG! HOT! I really enjoyed this book, I haven't read a Debbie Herbert book that I didn't like, they are all amazing. I am really looking forward to reading the third stand alone book in this seri [...]

    16. . As usual Debbie Herbert has written another intriguing paranormal suspense romance. Chulah's story involves a fae who is half human. April has loved Chulah since she was 16. They have to face a lot to be together. The book is so good I could not put it down. Thank you Debbie for a great afternoon of reading. Looking forward to your next book.

    17. I love this series from Debbie. I find it to be unique, magical books. The way Debbie writes makes me visualize as I am reading. And it is just such an intriguing story. You get southern culture, romance, and paranormal all mixed in together. And it all makes a lovely story to read. I look forward to more of this series from Debbie.

    18. I liked Tombi and Annie, I loved Chulah and April. Perhaps it's my soft spot for Fae or the fact that I never had a "That bastard!" moment with Chulah like I did with Tombi, but in any case, the series is getting better as the stories progress.

    19. Herbert takes us back to the Bayou and Choctaw legend with her latest book. April had her work cut out for her in winning over the love of her life. A lovely romance filled with the challenge of being from different worlds while having to conquer a rising evil.

    20. Chulah Rivers is a Native American Shadow Hunter in the Bayou and is used to strange creatures and evil spirits. Then a woman called April Meadows suddenly appears and asks him to help in a battle that threatens the Fae which she claims will affect the balance between the worlds. She also appears to know everything about him and he finds himself trying to resist a desire for her.Wow - this was a great story that merged the worlds or the Shadow Hunters and the Fae in a charming love story. It had [...]

    21. Okay so a few things I must confess - I won this book in a Harper Collins competition, along with a crate of mixed Mills and Boons books, so because of this I didn’t realise that this was the second book in the series (oops). Starting second book in didn’t seem to effect the story - I can see that perhaps I missed some background story on the other two main characters Tombi and his wife, however it didn’t detract from the story or confuse me in anyway - which is a testament to Debbie’s w [...]
