    1. ARC REVIEW I swear reading Heather Hiestand's The Grand Russe Hotel series puts me in the mood to watch BBC's The House of Eliott or dig out my silent movie collection. Not to mention that I have have this internal jazz soundtrack playing in my head as I read them. I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first book, I rated them the same but I liked Alecia and Ivan more than I liked Sadie and Les. Sadie was a bit more of a flake at first it wasn't until later in the book she really blossom [...]

    2. Sadie Loudon just started work as a chambermaid at the Richmond Inn, just outside of London, when two men crash into her; Les Drake was the second one, in hot pursuit of a Bolshevik labour agitator. Les feels he needs to apologise to the pretty maid for his behaviour, so later on he goes back to the inn and chats her up. The following day is Sadie’s twentieth birthday, and Les invites her to celebrate with some Russian friends of his. Les works for the Secret Intelligence Services, but is unde [...]

    3. Sadie was a new chambermaid in a shabby inn. This was Sadie’s first job. Two men came barrelling down the stairs and knocked Sadie down the way man paused to help her. She got up but her back ached and her head spun. The one man had been a labor agitating Bolshevik. The old desk clerk told her to go lay down for a half hour to rest after being hurt. Les- a handsome man had been one of the men who knocked Sadie over he is attracted to Sadie and feel he should go back and apologize to her for be [...]

    4. Love and intrigue in a hotel full of secretsThe second book in the Hotel Grand Russe series, this story, about Sadie Loudon, the country girl who finds herself inadvertently involved in Russian espionage at the establishment and almost accidentally marrying the British spy assigned to keep an eye on things, had me flipping the pages trying to guess what was going to happen. A good read about an amazing era!

    5. 3.5 Star Review Posted at HarlequinJunkie British Secret Intelligence Agent, Les Drake, works best alone, but with his latest case he finds he’s going to need someone like Sadie Loudon to help him uncover the information he needs to take down his targets. In the beginning, seducing Sadie seems like a good idea, but the more time he spends with her, the more he finds himself falling in love. But with the assignment he’s undertaking comes danger, and Les finds himself less willing to risk her [...]

    6. Where If I Had You was a more genteel story set in a grand hotel, Sadie and Les have a wilder and more dangerous adventure as they are caught up in a riot. I was really afraid they weren't going to survive the mob! I was also unsure if Sadie and Les were going to end up together because of all of his deceit. I'm enjoying seeing tidbits about Peter Eyre as his story develops from book to book and we learn more about the hotel. What lies ahead for Peter?I received an ARC in return for my honest op [...]
