  • What would you do if you could relive your life, knowing what you know now After 40 year old Jake Simon suddenly dies of a bleeding brain aneurysm, the best way forward in his path toward heavenly perfection is to go backward back in time By returning to his past and reliving the worst summer of his life, Jake sets out to rewrite his future The Class of 86 is for anyoneWhat would you do if you could relive your life, knowing what you know now After 40 year old Jake Simon suddenly dies of a bleeding brain aneurysm, the best way forward in his path toward heavenly perfection is to go backward back in time By returning to his past and reliving the worst summer of his life, Jake sets out to rewrite his future The Class of 86 is for anyone who has questioned God s plan for his or her life, or anyone who has wondered how he or she would relive life if given the chance Anyone over forty who feels nostalgic for their youth will love the carefully researched details that poke fun at the 80s at every turn Excerpt from a review written by Brian Reaves, author of Portal, Stolen Lives, and Chase the Shadows Williams does an incredible job with this story It s not a science fiction time travel story, despite the way the premise sounds Instead, this is a character driven novel full of three dimensional people with real lives The events in the story happen logically, and you really feel for Jake as the world falls apart around him even though he tries to make things better The ending of the story is great too, with one final plot twist thrown in Williams is a very talented writer, knowing what to hold back from the reader and what to give away I really enjoyed this book Williams immerses you in the sights and sounds of 1986 the year Jake wakes up As a matter of fact, the setting becomes as much a part of the story as the characters themselves Rather than tell you a hall is full of high school kids, Williams gives you insight into the fashions they are wearing did I ever wear acid washed ripped jeans to school Man, what was I thinking and even the music playing You ll feel like you re watching a John Hughes film here In the end, Williams is able to bring everything to a satisfactory and logical conclusion If you re a child of the 80 s, you ll love this story.

    1. Amazing story with a great endingFor a "fantasy" story, it was very realistic and believable. Using time travel for a spirit that retains knowledge of the time left behind produces effects in the protagonists life not possible any other way.The life lessons illustrated are well worth considering for everyone who reads this story.

    2. I am a tad biased, but I wrote this novel and I really do think it is amazing. If you have ever had any regrets and wish you could redo things, this one is for you. If you love the 80s you will love this novel.

    3. Great story !I really liked the humor but most of all the lessons in trusting God always . The next in the series should be even better !

    4. Interesting ConceptA chance to go back and live his life again only to find that nothing really changest the best writing, but interesting none the less.
