    1. 1st read by this author. I enjoyed reading Jay & Gabi's love story filled with their ups & downs. Brooke was my least favorite character. I would like to read more of Benji & Cam's relationship. Well written storyline. Highly recommended to all

    2. I loved this book. It was a very good read. There's nothing much I can say since it's been a while since I've read it(I was one of the very first readers of Excuse Me, First Love). Danielle Burton is a talented author.

    3. 3.5 Quite honestly there was nothing wrong with this book. It was rather sweet and somewhat predictablelata peeps

    4. Don't leave meOMGospel. When I tell you I was here for each moment of Jay and Gabi's story. I want to start with how relatable the characters are and the subject matter. College is always interesting, many love matches are discovered during this time. I appreciated the ability to not shy away from the Love & Basketball reference. It ensured that one tackled that head on for any potential objections. I do not want to give the story away but there are two characters I look to read about in the [...]

    5. HeartwarmingThis is my first read by this author. This book was recommend by one of my favorite authors that I follow. This is a well written emotional story about true love. Gabi and Jay meet as teenagers and became inseparable until Gabi's family moved away. They lost touch but fate brought them back together. This is an emotional and heartwarming story of their journey to recreate their bond. Good read and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

    6. Good readThis was a good read. I was drawn into Gabi and Jays story immediately. They showed growth throughout the entire storyline and the hardships just made them stronger. A very enjoyable storyline. A great example of true love. I am anticipating reading more from this author.

    7. This was a sweet book and I really enjoyed that the men in the book weren't just alpha but expressed their emotions. There wasn't a doubt that Jay loved Gabi but experiencing adult love from teenage love was difficult for both characters. I can't wait to read Benji's story which I suspect will feature Cam.

    8. A YA novel relatable to even those of us more mature in age.I was completely wowed by this book and definitely in a good way!Being about 20 years removed from the college scene, I generally shy away from young adult novels. I stumbled across this book while searching for new reading material on and since I am always a sucker for a "friends-turned-lovers" theme I decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did!Though all of the primary characters are in their late teens (17-19), they are very matu [...]

    9. "Excuse Me, First Love" is the delightful first book of Danielle Burton. This debut novel follows the intersecting lives of two college students, Gabrielle and Jayson. Both of which were separated for three years, and both of which have deeper feelings than just friendship for each other. This novel is filled with farcical predicaments when it comes to Jay and Gabi’s “romance” and “friendship”. And it’s also filled with twists, turns and the occasional tear jerking moment. This is no [...]

    10. I love a good story full of youth. Seeing people overcome things when it's easy to slip in to the wrong things. To miss out on things because of fear. This was a good read for any age really, but still had good reminders of those younger days for me.

    11. So this is my first read from this author. I put off reading it for a long time because I anticipated it possibly being boring. I don't know why but the title and the cover didn't grab me and I'm not even sure how I ended up getting it on my kindle to be honest, but it turned out to be a page turner and I really loved the characters. Good read.

    12. Loved itJay and Gabi became a loving couple despite obstacles. Her mother certainly did an about face. Didn't really like her excuse for treating Gabi with such contempt. Great story.

    13. Loved it!This book was so sweet. I was mad that it took JJ and little red that long to get it together. I wonder does cam and benji have something going on

    14. ★★★1/2The title of the book conveys the story content entirely. The cover does allow a small glimpse of what the story is about but it does not snag your immediate attention. Some readers need to be pulled in from the cover so a change would be beneficial. The story was poorly edited. There were many misspelled words, missing words, incorrect usage of words, incorrect grammar, improper punctation, and improper sentence structure. The characters were introduced very well but the book did no [...]

    15. No Excuse NeededGabi and Jayson's story was heart warming from the start. The two had been best friends who were separated when Gabi's father was transferred away ,and Jayson and Gabi eventually loss contact. So fast forward freshman year, and Gabi and Jayson were enrolled at the same university. Both Jayson and Gabi still loved one another but, both were afraid to reveal their true feelings and possibly losing one another, if their love for each other was unrequited. Add in Jayson's mean girl g [...]

    16. This books was AMAZING. A few editing errors but NOTHING MAJOR. Doesn't take away from the story whatsoever.Jay and Gabi heart. Their story was so full of twists and turns, highs and lows, laughs and tears. Simply incredible. Wouldn't change a thing.Give us more dear author!Looking forward to Benji's story!

    17. Excellent read It was so good. I laughed cried all at the same time. I can't wait for book 2. Danielle sat the story up so well that I felt that this could have been me. I loved it

    18. Excuse meI wanted to give this book two stars because it did not end the way I wanted it to. I wanted Haikeem to be bae. Jayson was totally stupid. Ugh.
