    2. “Georgia, Georgia . . .” No one captures that sweet Georgia feeling, or writes a mystery like author Susan Furlong. WAR AND PEACH, the third book in the Georgia Peach Mysteries, was worth every day spent waiting for it to be released. I love that every chapter opens with a numbered Southern Girl Secret . . . Southern Girl Secret #045: A Southern gal never starts a fight, but she sure the heck knows how to finish one. That’s just one of the many witty sayings you’ll find. Fun!Ms. Furlong [...]

    3. The local election for mayor is all anyone is talking about in Cays Mill, Georgia, and Nola Mae Harper has become caught in the middle. Just an hour before the last debate is to take place, a fire breaks out in Clem Rogers’s barn, and his body is found in the ruins. Since he had some dirt on his opponent in the race he was going to share at the debate, the people in town are certain his opponent did it. The sheriff has another theory, Nola Mae’s father, who has admitted to visiting the victi [...]

    4. The Georgia Peach Mystery series became a favorite cozy series for me since the release of the first book in the series Peaches and Scream. I pre-ordered this third book as I was eager to continue with the series. Many reviewers have given a synopsis of the plot so I will relate what makes this series special to me.First of all, the plotting is very good. So many books the reader has the who done it early on in the book. The answers came to me late in the book or when the author disclosed it. It [...]

    5. It's election season in Cays Mill, Georgia. Nola Mae is rooting for the town outsider, Margie Price, to win. But when her opponent, Clem Rogers, turns up dead, Margie becomes a prime suspect, right after Nola Mae's father, who has had problems with Clem in the past. It's up to Nola Mae to discover who really killed Clem, before the local sheriff puts either her friend, or her father, in jail.I absolutely love this series. It has great charm, and the characters are beautifully drawn. I could see [...]

    6. This delicious third installment in the Georgia Peach mysteries was absolutely my favorite. The first two books were a delight, but in War and Peach Nola Mae has truly settled in to Cays Mill and found her stride. Business owner, peach farmer, and devoted member of the Harper family, she takes on a cartload of problems when a rival peach farmer is murdered in his barn. Even more disturbing is that sheriff Maudy Payne has set her sights on Nola Mae’s dad as the number one suspect. But Nola Mae [...]

    8. The third in a simply delightful series, War and Peach was a wonderful book full of lovable characters, and a solid mystery. The characters are wonderful, for the most part. Ms. Furlong does a wonderful job of creating lovable characters that a person becomes emotionally invested in. However, there is one character that I feel is underdeveloped; Cade. Cade is Nola's love interest, yet I feel as if I barely know him at all. I don't know if it was just me, but I failed to connect with him, and the [...]

    9. Southern Girl Secret #060: “There are only two reasons someone new comes into your life: They’re either gonna be a blessin’ or a lesson.” WAR AND PEACH, the newest release in the Georgia Peach Mystery series by Susan Furlong, is chock-full of fun tidbits like this at the beginning of each chapter. Each “secret” while cute, also has a ring of truth to it that I so enjoyed! Susan has created a tight-knit Georgia peach farming family for the feisty protagonist, Nola Mae Harper. No matte [...]

    10. War And Peach is the third book in the A Georgia Peach Mystery series.Another wonderful addition to this delicious series.Nola Mae Harper is enjoying success with her specialty shop Peachy Keen. Not only is the shop doing a good business, but the online business is also picking up. Nola Mae has hired a young lady, Carla Fini, to help in the store and with their website. Not only does she do well helping the customers, but is equally adept at updating the website. In addition, he has come up with [...]

    12. "War and Peach" by Susan Furlong is a great read! From the very first page until the last, I "lived" in a small town in Georgia, steeped in southern tradition, where I got to know the main character, Nola Mae, and many of the locals. When Nola's father becomes the primary suspect in their neighbor's murder, she's determined to discover the true identity of the killer in order to clear her father's name. But in the process, she uncovers secrets from the past and puts her own life in serious jeopa [...]

    13. 4.5 starsWAR AND PEACH is the fantastic third installment in the Georgia Peach Mystery series and is as juicy as you would expect the first bite of a peach at the peak of season to be. Strong, well defined characters, an interesting setting, engaging mystery, and a sprinkling of Southern charm make this book a favorite.I always enjoy my time spent in Cays Mill, Georgia, and WAR AND PEACH is worth every minute. It is election season in the rural farming town, and the residents are divided by the [...]

    14. Dollycas’s ThoughtsPolitics can get heated but in Cays Mill, Georgia it gets burning hot when one of the mayoral candidates is killed when barn becomes an inferno. The deceased, Clem Rogers may have had some dirt on his opponent but Nola Mae has a hard time believing Margie Price would have killed him to shut him up. The sheriff has set her sights on the Harper family, of course, specifically Nola’s dad, which takes a toll on him. Nola sets her mind on some other suspects but finds herself i [...]

    15. There is something so special about Susan Furlong's "Georgia Peach Mystery" series. And the newest installment "War and Peach" is even more amazing. I don't know if it is the way her characters love their family or the way they fight for not only each other, but for what is right. Whatever it is, this book really touched me while at the same time was an amazing mystery read. I love this family, Nola Mae Harper is such a powerful protagonist. The writing and pacing is perfect. The story line draw [...]

    16. I enjoy this series for the family loyalty, the struggles that the family faces which are not superficial and reflective of the struggle of farmers everywhere. I also enjoy the relationship between main character Nola Mae and her family, friends and customers. The main mystery in this story had me guessing until the big reveal and I was actually caught up and enjoying the political twist in this book. I love the dog Roscoe as well! I hope this series continues beyond this third book and I can no [...]

    17. Oh, I could almost smell the peaches while reading ‘War and Peach’, third in A Georgia Peach Mystery series. The cover art invites the reader to step into the home of this Southern cozy mystery, and the novel does not disappoint.Politics isn’t always peachy, especially when someone threatens to reveal a past secret of Margie’s, a mayoral candidate who moved to Cays Mill a few years earlier and owns and operates the Sunny Side Up B & B. Clem, the candidate who was going to tell all is [...]

    19. War and Peach is the third book in the Georgia Peach mystery series. This was my first book by this author and I never felt confused or like I was missing any information even though I haven't read the previous two books yet. War and Peach is going down as one of my favorite reads so far this year. I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Each one has their own unique personality. 21. This is a great book; this is the third book in the Georgia Peach Mystery series written by Susan Furlong. Nola Mae Harper is too busy restocking the jars of preserves and chutney flying off the shelves of her shop, Peachy Keen, to keep up with all the gossip about the upcoming mayoral election, but she does know the debate is sure to be a real barn burner. Local farmer Clem Rogers claims he has a bombshell that could take small business owner Margie Price out of the running. But before Clem can [...]

    22. I really enjoyed the last book in this series, Rest in Peach, but I think War and Peach is even better. When local farmer and mayoral candidate Clem Rogers is found in the debris of his burned-down barn, everyone suspects his political rival Margie of having done away with her competition. Nola Mae is sure that the woman isn’t capable of murder, but the rest of her small town don’t seem to agree. Sure that an innocent woman is being railroaded, Nola steps in to investigate.I love the small t [...]

    23. I have no idea how I missed the first 2 books in this series, but I'm happy I read this one. This story is about Nola Mae whose family owns a peach farm and she owns Peachy Keen a store that sells all manner of peach preserves, chutney, etc. and, of course, she solves murders!! I love the map in the front, and the Southern Girl Secrets at the beginning of each chapter. I found it very interesting that Nola Mae joined something similar to the Peace Corps instead of going off to the "big city". Th [...]

    24. I love this series and it always makes me want to bake something with peaches and you can do just that with the tasty sounding recipes at the end of the book! This is one of those series that just keeps getting better. I love revisiting Cay's Mill, Georgia and Nola Mae, she is a fun character that loves her family even though they drive her crazy at times. The mystery is a quick read, that keeps you riveted until the end. I did a voluntary review on a copy I received from the author.

    25. I'm always thrilled to spend time in Cays Mill, GA, with Nola Mae and her family. Susan Furlong has written another hit with this latest installment of the Harper Family saga. Who dun it? You'll have to read it to find out, but like her other books, it keeps you guessing until the end. I'm ready for the next one!!

    26. This book was difficult to begin as I couldn't recall the characters; once I let go of who's who the pages started flying by and my memory of past books [or the story's character's returned]. I love the quirkiness of our "character family" and wish the books were closer together.hint hintActually I give this book *** 1/2 stars

    27. Best stpry in the mystery seriesI enjoyed all three of the Georgia peach mystery series. Good characters, nice description of the small southern town and a good mystery on top of it all!

    28. Peach of a cozyReally good cozy mystery. Didn't figure out, "who done it", until the end. Really good characters, and love the good southern family dynamics in this book and entire series. Looking forward to the next one. Easy 5 stars.
