  1. Fool's Gold by Glen Davies is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early April. Originally published in 1992, this book would have warranted a 3.5-star rating from me, because of itsards-backwards narration. The third-person storytelling style is as rich, flavorful, and western as a pot of pork pozole stew, but the raw, unexpected use of flashbacks and weirdly-formatted speech patterns feels as out of place as a pozole stew sandwich made with Wonder Bread.
