    1. Colour is a major player in this tale and that has seeped into everything. It describes the disconnected imagery and wandering language of dreaming, through alien minds, along with the disintegration of sleep deprivation too. The blurb claimed this was a unique book and I tend to be suspicious of directions like that, but having now read it I can tell you that it is undeniably true. If you’re used to describing novels by lazy association, saying “This is a bit like… on acid”, you’ll co [...]

    2. This is a unique story. At first, I didn't understand everything that was going on. The dreamers, the Drinians confused me at first, but then I got into the rhythm of their dialogue. There is a lot happening and overall I thought it was a smooth read. The Calyx character kept surprising me, and I guess, in general, I felt connected to the main characters. I did find myself wondering what would happen next. Is this book a part of a series?

    3. What are we without our dreams? How do our dreams define us? Atmosphere: We don’t Orbit but Fall all the Same, addresses these issues on a galactic scale. In this novel, there’s no humanity to be found, but humanity’s faults and struggles abound in alien form. Atmosphere is a Sociological Sci-Fi lover’s dream, pun perhaps intended. The world-building is rich, and the protagonist, Phlox Sweeno, is as brave as he is often confused by his own dreams. Again, dreams. Phlox’s species is not [...]

    4. Phlox Swenno (Primalan) was welcomed aboard the Splinter Sixty-Six’s. He met Dr. Phlox Swenno, Anthullo (2nd. Mate), & Kase, Dattura, Tii Phramm (2nd. Engineer), Ladin, Taauk, Luud, Calyx “Cal” Swigg, Noorum Soff, Saan (crewmate), Guvvat, & later Captain Kinsal. They were all Primalan species. There Splinter Sixty-Six’s had 3 onboard Medical Laboratories. Later on during the voyage what happened to Luud & Calyx? What about Dattura? The Trotuul shuttle prepared to separate from [...]
