This book is made up of three short stories and a few pages of extra bits at the end.The first story is about Wendy Quill playing the part of a crocodile's bottom in a Peter Pan play when she would much have preferred the part of Wendy, given her name. Still the play does allow her to be a little bit famous.The second story (incidentally called Act 2 which fits in with the `play' theme of the first story that leant its name to the book) is about how Wendy Quill accidently became part of a tap-da [...]

    2. I got this for my 9 year old daughter as the blurb mentions similarities with Clarice Bean and Tom Gates, two of her favourite book series. She really enjoyed it, especially the wonderful illustrations by Mina May, the author's eleven year old daughter - plenty of inspiration for budding illustrators!It's a quick, fun read which will appeal to both children and adults so it's ideal for bedtime reading. We're both looking forward to reading more about Wendy in her next escapade

You need to read widely if you are training to be a teacher, they said, so gave this a go a 'girly' book on the face of it, but actually the 3 short stories contained within may well appeal to boys too! Love the approach of making the words different sizes/shapes, the use of annotate drawings to 'build on' what is happening in the main text, and the 'box out' sections that adds extra information about the story, or in some cases some real life facts.
