The novel text and sequential art conspire to provide a rather disorienting reading experience: the art style and page layouts get so abstract and highly stylized that it's just not terribly easy to follow along. With a bit of perseverence (and several re-reads of previous pages) you'll get the gist of the story, and the art is still really nice on its own.
