    1. Another one I nerded out a bit on. First 150 pages or so are a decent primer to the origins of air strategy, which may or may not be useful to the reader. The meat of the book, though, is a great discussion of the strategy of deterrence in general and nuclear deterrence in particular. Given the near revolutionary impact of nukes to the calculus of deterrence, Brodie's insights are helpful to understanding what many of today's readers take for granted: that nuclear deterrence and MAD was not alwa [...]

    2. Foundational, magisterial. A must-read for anyone interested in the basic principles and logic of strategy, the continuum of Douhet strategic bombing doctrines into the nuclear era, and the best, most succinct overview of systems analysis I've ever read.
