    1. I love the idea behind this book, favourite nursery rhymes paired with toddler-friendly illustrations, however I don't the concept really worked for me. With one whole nursery rhyme to each image, there wasn't enough visual imagery to complement the rhymes. So much could have been done with these, if perhaps there had been three or four illustrations per rhyme. Additionally I found the pictures to be quite difficult to see, possibly due to the lack of outlines to the shapes and no white space. F [...]

    2. It's been awhile since I have seen a book that looks at classic nursery rhymes. They seem to be forgotten. This book hopefully helps these tales make a resurgence. While I knew most of the rhymes, there were some new one which was nice. Some of the nursery rhymes have more stanzas then are listed and I wished they had included them all.

    3. The start of this book was really good and I thought that it was definitely going to be a 5 star read but then some of the nursery rhymes seemed to be cut down, the only reason I can see is so that they fit better on the pages and in with the layout for the book which is a shame, I liked the images, they were cute but can't give it any more than 3 stars.

    4. The illustrations in this book are sweet and very kid-friendly. The colour pallet is soothing and calm and toddlers and wee learners will gobble them up. The collection of nursery rhymes that Mullen has selected to illustrate features such classics as Humpty Dumpty, Little Miss Muffet, The Little Girl with a Curl, Jack and Jill, Three Blind Mice, To Market, and Baa Baa Black Sheep, just to name a few. She cleverly includes some less known ones for both you and your child to learn off by heart an [...]

    5. Large drawings frame classic stories, like The Cat and the Fiddle; seeing a cat holding a violin is not nearly as unusual as I thought it would be. Others include a nattily depressed but dour Humpty before the fall, Little Miss Muffet, Three Blind Mice, and so on. These are the original versions of the stories; can’t help but picture a child asking, “Why did the old woman who lived in a shoe whip the kids before sending them to bed?” And did the pumpkin-eater kidnap his wife and hold her c [...]

    6. Cute book of nursery rhymes with bright illustrations that young children are sure to enjoy. Most of the rhymes were familiar to me and would be fun to share with our boys. If I have any complaints about the book it is the lack of multiple illustrations per rhyme. My favorite nursery rhyme books as a child had one rhyme per page, but would depict two or three scenes from the rhyme to support the language used and story told. I find that to be a big help in teaching children words, context and ea [...]
