Her şey aynı olmasına rağmen senaryoyu okurken aldığım [...]

    3. Description: A Knight and his squire are home from the crusades. Black Death is sweeping their country. As they approach home, Death appears to the knight and tells him it is his time. The knight challenges Death to a chess game for his life. The Knight and Death play as the cultural turmoil envelopes the people around them as they try, in different ways, to deal with the upheaval the plague has caused. Far better to watch the film, it is superbly done

    4. Obviously a near-cliche of philosophical, allegorical, Existential, Swedish, artsy-fartsy Foreign Film (with a capital-F).Not so obviously, a consistently entertaining, vibrant, witty, thoughtful, engaging Movie (with a capital-M).Woody Allen (a Bergman disciple if ever there was one) liked to point out that while they were filming all these heavy scenes with Death and the Knight and all that, the actors were gossiping in full costume between takes about each other's sex lives and who got sloshe [...]

    7. Beautiful pictures, stunning message. After a 10 year crusade, a knight returns to his country, which is being devastated by the Black Death, to find that people are going mad, blurting religious rubbish at each other, cursing each other's guts, killing assumed to be witches (in this case, a woman supposed to have had sex with the Devil) and having really creepy religious processions.Death, that has come upon the knight to take him, is surprised when he pleads they play a chess game so as to fore [...]

    8. It was absolutely astounding, it questions everything about religion, if God really exists, it also highlights religion slowing down the progress of scientific development. I was shocked to the most when the Knight lost the game to distract death and flee with the family back to his castle which is occupied by his wife. Although it questions the philosophy of religion it is well written. And i also love the fact that death was personified, that he could only be viewed by the knight, and jof had [...]

    12. This, I should say, is one of my all time favorites. I read, re-read and re-read it from time to time and each time, I am amazed by the writing. While the movie is an acclaimed classic, this book has an identity of its own and its a classic in its own right.

    14. It's depth and breath are matched by little else. I really feel a warming joy in reading the despondency of Norwegian and Swedish literature.
