    1. So, here we are on the 2nd book in Iris Johansen’s Sedikhan Series…d what can I say???It’s more like a Mills & Boon story…our feisty heroine, Honey (I kid you not!!) Winston is a PI and is on a job to get incriminating letters for her client from the gorgeous and sexy and zillionaire Prince Rubinoff…oh yes, this is a contemporary novel!!!!She gets caught and the prince falls under her spell…okay, she’s this tall and gorgeous women with long flowing white-blonde hair…thus the [...]

    4. "The Golden Valkyrie" is a re-release of a 1983 Loveswept Iris Johansen title. The story is very much a product of its times, but still fairly racy for those daysJust don't expect any realism and you'll be okay. For Johanse fans, she explains that this was the first book where she tried to be humorousShe's a Private Investigator, he's a prince. She's a virgin, he's a playboy. They meet in a very interesting way, and, of course, fall in love. Sweet story with a very HEA.

    5. This was cute story and parts of it were good but it was more exciting before they got to the bedroom. The taxi scene was hotter then there first time for sure. She was just a little too easy when she knew his rep and he made fun of her all the time. Sorry but I can't endorse that in a hero. He gets points for coming after her and drugging her into the costume on the ship. Cute but not awesome.

    6. “The Golden Valkyrie” is the story of Honey and Lance.Honey is a PI, who invades Prince of Sedikhan Lance and his cousin Alex’s room, being hired by his psycho ex, for what turns out to be false reasons. As she leaves, she ends up intriguing Lance, who then uses Government pressure into hiring her as a bodyguard. Them falling for each other while she protects him, and vice versa is the story. The hero was a little bit annoying. He’s OTT domineering in the first half (annoyingly one minded [...]

    7. Honey Winston is a private detective, with her finances struggling, she knows she needs a good case. When a woman comes to her asking her to find some letters for her, Honey is more than willing considering the reward involved. So Honey sneaks into Prince Rubinoff's hotel suite, hiding beneath the service cart, however since she is allergic to cigar smoke, she is discovered and forced to reveal her true reason for her being there. However Lance is viewed on the media as a royal playboy his nickn [...]

    8. This showed up as a recommendation in MYSTERIES.I should have seen that iris johansen is a romance writer. Likely a great romanceif you like romance novels. This book typifies what I dislike about romances - they are grotesquely sexist. They save the 'little woman' from weak and stupid acts. In this one, the woman is happily lied to and even drugged and kidnapped. No problem. She has unprotected sex, but no problem, it would be an honor to carry his babyeven as a momento. She of course is a 24 yea [...]

    10. This is not one of Johansen's better books. The main character Honey Winston is not believable as a PI, nor is the plot very interesting.

    11. All I can say is it was entertaining Didn't know this author wrote such trite stories. Very disappointing. When P.I. Honey Winston is hired to steal incriminating letters from visiting dignitary Prince Rubinoff, she’s prepared for a dangerous mission that could end her career. But when she blows her cover, she finds that the amused prince is everything the media have made him out to be: part Adonis, part playboy—and irresistibly charismatic. The problem is, the feeling is mutual. Intrigued, t [...]

    13. I am kind of new to the genre, so find myself grabbing things fairly randomly from the library. This falls under "authors who try to write capable female characters but either don't know how smart women act or know but think it won't sell." The gist of it is that a woman is supposedly smart and sensible, yet falls for every stupid trick, cries at the drop of a hat, and is completely incapable of maintaining professionalism in the presence of a hot guy (she doesn't choose to throw caution to the [...]

    15. This book was a waste of my time! This was listed as suspense and romance. There was absolutely no suspense. The characters were not only under-developed, but also not believable. Who would believe that a 24 yr old virgin would jump into bed with a playboy so quickly? Also, could this really be a PI that has past experience as a bodyguard? She is not professional and not prepared to actually safe anyone's life.

    16. Oh god, I couldn't finish it I know it's in from 1983 but it's very dated and I just can't do it Her professional background is not believeable. There's no way a 24 y.o. is able to have as much background experience as she claims to have as a Private Investigater unless she started when she was 16 years oldwhich I highly doubt. I guess my romance novels have to be believeable, unless they're Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance.

    17. To be fair, this was my first Iris Johansen book, and apparently this novel is very different than the stories that she usually writes, so I don't think I should completely write her off just yet. This just wasn't my idea of a good read: there was very little character development, and we had scarcely been introduced to our "literary eye candy" before he and our heroine were establishing a very superficial relationship that they carelessly identified as "love". No thanks.

    18. I made several mistakes on this. One, I thought this was a Johansen suspense. It wasn't. It was one of her old romances. Two, I bought the audio version. Romances are better in print. Oh my goodness, her writing. She used every adverb in the dictionary, I say tersely. On that note, I'll close dreamily with this note. This shows Johansen has improved magnificently over time. (Not the cover on my cds)

    19. Written in the early 1980's, you could almost call this a historical romance, but I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the plot. All three could have been better developed, but you must remember this was a Loveswept series romance which limits the length, content, and ability to extend the plot points.

    20. rereadI don`t care for Shiek books but this one wasn`t too bad because it is different than most of them.Galen finally gets all the tribes together so they can vote if they should ally themselves with their next door neighbor where the h comes from or remain fighting and killing each other. This another of Iris`s super tough h that comes in to save the H and the day every chance she gets.

    21. If you go in expecting great literature you will be disappointed but if you read this book expecting only to be entertained then you will definitely enjoy yourself. Its sweet and sexy and does exactly what it was meant to do: entertain and distract.

    22. This is a part of the Sadikan serie.(part 2)Very good! I liked Prince Lance ( cousin from Prince Alex book 4!) and Honey very much.Lance had to fight for his love,Honey! In the end he will get her,

    23. Honey Winston is a 24-year old virgin and finds herself being a prince's live-in body gaurd. He is smooth, sexy, and wants her. Of course she gives in's a romance novel. I did like the book, but I found her mix of naivety and sexual forwardness to be contradictory.

    24. could barely get through this book, and briefly skimmed the end so I can bring it back to the library tomorrow. barely any character development and pretty unbelievable storyline. Ready to pick up the new Charlaine Harris that is on hold for me!

    25. I like Iris Johansen's suspense novels. I did not realize she was a "harlequin romance" writer before she went to suspense. It was OK, was the typical romance book pattern, little depth to characters and story line. It was quick read.

    26. I feel like the majority of the story was never told and lost its appeal VERY quickly. Was under the impression that it was primarily a mystery but solely ended up being a cheesy romance.
