    1. I don't know much about comics, so the reading format was confusing to me. The story seems to start in the middle. I hope as the comic progresses, questions will be answered. Kudos to Amandla Stenberg. She is life!

    2. Beautiful artwork and great character design. This first issue set up enough of the world that I am excited to continue reading. I'm feeling an esoteric vibe and elements of the wilderness is making me think Avatar (James Cameron's).

    3. Love the illustrations but the story needs to be tightened up some. I'm going to continue supporting this series by advancing to the next issue. Hopefully I can gain some answers.

    4. I quite enjoyed this comic and look forward to giving it a second read. It is a fantasy story with some nontraditional twists and a strong female protagonist, and the art work is beautiful.

    5. A protagonista semella interesante (e as heroínas de cor nunca sobran), mais a narración é algo difícil de seguir. Pode que me falte contexto.Iso si, tanto ilustración como tintas molan mil!

    6. The artwork is great, and I love the diversity of characters, but the story is so confusing. The world building felt less like a gradual exploration and understanding, and more like having a bunch of rocks thrown at you. It tries to establish so much in such a short span and it didn't really work. Unfortunate, because I feel like with better execution this could be the beginning of a great series.

    7. Okay, almost hitting that sweet spot but not quite their yet. The romance in the story really bogged down everything else and was overly cliche. But everything else was interesting and cool and had/has so much potential! Especially for a graphic novel.

    8. It's OkayThe story isn't too bad for just the first comic. Interesting character and interesting plot. My only issue is that it seems to lay it on pretty thick with "depth" without actually having much so far.

    9. 3.5 starsA unique though somewhat confusing story (the confusion being it setting up the story / world without resorting to heavy exposition). It shows promise but it also didn't really grab me.

    10. The story starts somewhere in the middle - of what we've no idea - and I'm trying to work out if I feel lost in a good way or a bad way. It's incredibly short and has very little text (I read it in under ten minutes), but Niode's profile on the last page is intriguing enough that I just bought volume 2. The illustrations are beautiful, too.

    11. It's a very promising start! The reason I'm giving this four stars rather than five is mostly due to me being fairly new to the comic format (I usually read novels over graphic novels/comics). I'm sure once I get the hang of the layout, I will enjoy the series even more.

    12. I picked up this graphic novel because it was written and created by Amandla Stenberg, who is someone I enjoy she is a great person and stands firm in what she believes in. So when I heard she had her own graphic novel out I couldnt wait to read it and dive into the story. Without me giving too much away this story is about a girl named Niobe and she seems to be running from her past, from people. I enjoyed the writing style, its very poetic in my opinion and it just flows together. I enjoyed th [...]

    13. So, I was excited by the idea that Stenberg was going to write a comic and that she feels so connected to the character. But to be honest, this is a very average (at best) first issue. I do love that it is beautiful and that it didn't try to over explain itself, but there was almost no context. I have no idea who anyone is, least of all Niobe. I may read this in the future, but I will have to wait for the trade. 2.5 stars.

    14. I was so into it and it was hard to put down, but then it suddenly ended! Why so short? I suppose the price should've been a clue. If it was a full length comic I would've been disappointed that it priced so cheaply. But it definitely is a good read and I will be getting the next installation. I just wish future releases would be a lot LOT longer.

    15. An intriguing start. So far, there are more questions than answers but I am looking forward to exploring the series further and unravelling these a bit more. I like all of the character designs and a couple of the full page spreads were truly gorgeous so it looks promising!

    16. This is the start of a great comic. However, it's difficult to give it a proper rating because it was just too short. The art is beautiful butere isn't many words per frame, etc. Hopefully, the next one digs deeper into the story.

    17. Artwork 12/10Story 0/10The artwork is breathtaking, but there really is no story. There's no world-building and no plot. There is incredible potential, but the story did not deliver.

    18. An intriguing beginning to the story that promises awesome characters and gorgeous artwork. Not a whole lot of world building yet, which left me with questions, but I'm along for the ride.

    19. A truly auspicious start to a new series. I liked how the beautiful art perfectly complimented the melodic tones of the story. This story is a teaser promising a lot more to come.

    20. Loved the art! But I gotta say a bit of the story was a bit hard to follow. I believe a reread will be needed.

    21. I wanted to like this more, but it was a bit too vague and the dialogue was a bit too confusing for a first issue to feel terribly compelled to continue on. We'll see.

    22. I love the concept plus its nice to see a black elf. It is sad to say that I never thought such a thing would exist. Makes me want to play D&D just so I can create one :D

    23. I've wanted to read something like this for so long. I'm so happy I ran across this. The art is pretty and I can't wait for more
