    1. I was given this ARC in return for an honest review, and although I never read book one I really enjoyed book two as I rapidly read to see how the two, teens struggle for success, and I can't wait to read the next! Samantha Green, her dad,Jake and his mom were celebrating Jake's birthday but he looked far away and unhappy. He did seem excited when their parents announced they were getting married. When he didn't even want dessert, but said they needed to talk and flew up to her room! When she as [...]

    2. The book cover is nice. It shows the villain, Gorgon and some of the dangerous dragons he has as his followers. Gorgon’s figure is quite awe inspiring especially since he has writhing tentacles on his head!.The story begins where it left off in the first book but it’s 14 months later. It’s quite evident that Samantha and Jake, the main protagonists of this story, aren’t getting along well. The story takes a complete twist right away when a Komodo dragon, gives them a visit demanding the [...]

    3. I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. This fantasy is full of excitement. Toward the end it had me turning the pages quickly to see the outcome. The evil villain, Gorgon, is depicted as being someone no one can trust. He turns Jake's and Sam's lives upside down when he sends a Komodo dragon to steal WhipEye. What ensues is a daring attempt to save the lives of both children's parents and a potential war between Lessers, Originals, and Great Ones. Much like the f [...]

    4. When I read book one my intentions were to read it with my ten year old son, but when the action picked up in the very first chapter, I was hooked. We read two chapters before he went to bed and then I stayed up all night and finished the book because I just could not put it down. I think this one was even better and this time I didn’t even bother to try to read it with my son first, I just went for it, but I will read it again with him. This story has a fascinating plot, is fast paced, very w [...]

    5. Estranged friends and neighbors, Jake and Samantha, celebrate a special dinner hosted by Bryon (Samantha’s father) and Cynthia (Jake’s mother), but the festivities are interrupted when a giant Comodo Dragon crashes the private party, demanding the WhipEye staff be handed over to Gorgon. When the children refuse, Bryon and Cynthia are attacked, leaving them fighting for their lives. Armed forces quickly arrive, taking both children prisoner, whilst using their ailing parents’ lives as lever [...]

    6. Gorgon, is a terrific middle grades book. Although I came into this story on the middle, I had no trouble keeping up with the backstory. It follows the next step in the story of Samantha and Jake who have had some time to rest from saving the world, but they haven’t quite recovered from their ordeal. Both are still affected by what happened and before they can really begin to talk about it they are thrown headlong into a new adventure that not only threatens the safety of both Earth and KiraKu [...]

    7. Saign has done it again! Gorgon is the book following WhipEye about two young children who discovered a whole new world of mysterious beings and unbelievable adventure. In this sequel both children are changed by their experiences and are aware that something big is about to happen and that they are not the same anymore. More and more Sam and Jake are experiencing dreams of Kiraku almost a year since the last event. Sooner than they know it, their world is turned upside down with the reappearanc [...]

    8. I love the main characters in this story, Sam (Samantha) and Jake. They have a fun friendship that I feel like really shows how 12/13 year olds would behave towards each other and the situations that arise. It's believable and they haven't been matured past their real age like so many stories do. It keeps the youthfulness in the story. Sam's knowledge of animals and quirkiness is one of my favorite parts of the book. There's so many varieties of animals in the book and I love it when she randoml [...]

    9. This story begins where it left off in book one, WhipEye only it is 14 months later. We see that our main characters Samantha and Jake are not getting along as the sory opens. Things get interesting right from the beginning when a Komodo dragon demands the WhipEye from Samantha, who is it's guardian. If you read book one you know that the WhipEye is a powerful magical staff that helps Samanta and Jake transport themselves to other places. It also calls them for help from the great ones of lthe m [...]

    10. I was given a free copy for an honest review of this book. I enjoyed reading it and I think it was a well-crafted book for young adults. From the beginning we know that something is not quite right with Sam and Jake. The author cleverly leads us carefully along a path that seems normal and perfect on the surface but is, in fact, deep and mysterious. The author opens up questions about the importance of the environment and the natural world. He builds up believable and relevant worlds that his you [...]

    11. Gorgon had a lot of action, adventure and thrilling scenes that's great not just for middle graders but even for much older kids (and kids at heart). I love nature and am very pleased that the book introduces us to a whole bunch of unknown animals, at least to me. My brain actually had a hard time imagining how the characters look like and how the scenes unfold. Everything was fast-paced and even in the 'slow' scenes, you can't help but still feel on edge because you keep on wondering how things [...]

    12. I had the pleasure of reading book one of Whip Eye Chronicles and I didn't think anything could top it, but I was wrong. Samantha and Jake only have a few days to save their parents before the poison takes their life. These two along with the help of friends must travel to KiraKu to get the antidote. They will encounter many new creatures friends and foes. This story had such an interesting plot that was fast paced and easy to follow . Each character had a role to play and all played them well. I [...]

    13. Samantha and Jake are thrown into the world of mystery once again. They have to save their parents, but are torn between two worlds. This time the mystical land of KiraKu is threatened by Gorgon. Sam and Jake control or are controlled by Whipeye once again and have to decide what is the right thing to do. Gorgon is full of adventure and action. It is fast paced and an action packed sequel to Whipeye. The adventure continues and the reader will be left wanting more.

    14. Jake and Sam need the antidote to save their parents. If they enter KiraKu and get the Jewel of Origin, Gorgo promises to give them the antidote and Rose. Will he keep his promise? Will they save their parents? Who can they trust? Adventure. Fantasy. Great characters. The author weaves an awesome adventure. I look forward to reading book 3. I received this book free for an honest review.

    15. After reading WhipEye, I was anxious to read the sequel I was not disappointed! As much as I liked the first book, I enjoyed Gorgon even more. The character development, action, and pacing kept me hooked and, as the story neared the end, I found myself anticipating what questions may be answered in his next book, Drasine.
