    1. Animal Planet Ocean Animals is a fantastic book! It would be a great addition to a home or school library. I enjoyed the beautiful pictures and fun facts that I learned. This book is great for children and adults alike. The book is organized with colorful tabs for different topics. We learn about many different animals, the zones of the ocean, and other important things about the nature of the ocean. Each animal featured in the book has a great picture as well as information about it, such as its [...]

    2. Review Excerpt: Published by Time, Inc. (who also put out Discovery Spaceopedia which was a hit in this household!) Animal Planet’s Ocean Animals, part of the new Animal Bites series, is a beautiful, informative book. The photographs were so sharp and vividly colored that, aided by well-done formatting, some of the creatures looked like they could swim right off the page, and the information contained within is kept at a very simple, easy to understand level for young children. For a full revie [...]

    3. I really love how accessible this series is. Full of interesting facts, it's sure to be a hit with young readers.

    4. I received this book for free from NetGalley and Time Inc. Books, in exchange for my honest opinion. That is all it is, my honest opinion.Animal Planet puts together these beautiful, colorful, and very informative animal books. This was about several different ocean dwelling animals, mammals and fish. My daughter reads these books, to the point of memorizing all the facts. The pictures and all the facts are brilliant. Very informative!!Thank you for this series!!.

    5. Genre: InformationalGrade level: PreK-4Unique feature: the book is very easy for kids to understand while being an informational book. This is a book beginner informational book because there is not too much for young readers to get distracted by, but a lot of great information for them to learn.

    6. Covers A Lot of Territory; Pretty Well OrganizedThis struck me as a very rewarding middle elementary grade ocean animal science book. Sometimes books like this are mostly fancy picture books. That's fine, unless you have an older reader who's ready for more than just cute and colorful pictures. Here we certainly have a lot of great, high quality, pictures. But, a fair amount of interesting and reasonably detailed info is tucked away in the captions, sidebars, and chapter intros. This book is form [...]

There are so many fascinating characteristics to learn about each animal and Animal P [...]

    9. 4.5 stars. I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review. This book was amazingly fun! I am so glad I had a chance to read/review this book, because it was just so pretty and fun.The book has gorgeous photographs, which had me wishing I could be there to see it is in real life. Not only did we have small photographs, or one page big photographs, we also had 2-pages spread of a photograph which were just delightfully beautiful.Next to the photographs we have a great visual bo [...]

    10. I smile every time I see that dolphin, sea turtle and clown fish. They are adorable. I cannot stop looking that them. What an amazing book cover. That is only the outside, what is inside is even more amazing! Animal Bites is a fun way to title this book, as my son pointed out, because this book provides us bites of information. I adored the fact that there is a key in the front cover as how to use the book. This allows the reader to easily find areas of interest and go directly to that spot to r [...]

    11. Animal Planet Ocean Animals by Animal Planet Laaren Brown is an astounding book of underwater animals and exquisite pictures. The images are crisp, clear, and beautiful. The book shows a variety of animal life from the variety of depths. It shows the reader the depths on it's chart. The book is so reader friendly. Every animal has a chart that shows how big it is and it is not like a normal chart. Most books might say, "3 feet", kids often aren't aware of what 3 feet really means so this book, ex [...]

    12. This book is exactly as the series says, Animal Bites. There are so many facts in this book that something is going to draw in any reader. This book describes many aspects of Ocean Life. It talks about habitats, adaptations, family life and more. The photos in this book are amazing. They are so close you feel like you can touch the animals. 13. We received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.K really enjoyed this book as he got to learn a lot of cool and neat facts about different animals in the ocean. We both loved the bright colors that were within the book as it made it fun to read. The only two issues I had with the book is one the writing on the lime green background is hard to read even in the light. That may need to be changed a bit. Two the formatting of the book is not very good, I hope that it is fixed before the [...]

    14. Young readers are treated to a look at ocean life -- from the creatures of the sky such as the albatross to animals from the ocean's deep sea vents like the exotic giant tube worm. There is the familiar bottlenose dolphin, great white shark, and humpback whale sharing pages with less familiar surgeon fish, green sea turtles, and whale sharks.Like the other books in the series, the animal sections are interspersed with thematic units with specific tabs such as Where They Live, How They Live, Vist [...]

    15. Beautiful colorful pictures. Very educational. My favorite was the Green Sea Turtles. One day I will get my kids and husband to see the baby turtles going into the ocean. I just need to know where and when. I never heard of the Giant tubeworm. Another favorite are the dolphin and humpback whale. Never knew a squid could break a crab's shell. Ouch!! A mama octopus is dedicated to her 56,000 eggs. Wow! I did not know that Belugas can imitate other animals. The best thing in this book is the resour [...]

    16. This is a nice series with short bits of information set on pages with vibrant colors and beautiful pictures. Children are drawn to bright colors and animals- a win win! There are colored tabs which label the information. My one suggestion would be to include a bookmark of these tabs or have it on the cover flap.My favorite sections are "Just like me" How we are alike. "Friend"? Tells us if this creature is safe to be around. "Info bites" I love the size comparison. There is a page of things to [...]

    17. This book is beautiful and simple. This was shared with my four year old daughter as we prepare for a trip to the coast. It spawned many questions, such as if certain things were hair or spikes. Both she and I appreciated the comparisons to related things to a child. A dolphin weighs about the same as two dads. This helped her remember details more clearly. It is a reference book we will go back to after our visit.

    18. Full review with teaching tools: unleashingreaders/?p=9733Like National Geographic nonfiction books for kids, Animal Planet’s books have some of the most stunning photographs of animals that I’ve ever seen. They take the reader to the animals’ home and shows the reader the ins and outs of the animal and how and where they live.

    19. Thanks to NetGalley for the read. This book has beautiful photography, and will attract kids on that basis alone. I find the information to be disjointed, definitely not for reference, but for more of a "hey, look at me, I'm interesting!" sort of experience that might lead to further inquiry.

    20. Great non-fiction book. The pictures were colorful and vibrant. The information was excellent. The glossary was very helpful. The more information section was full of other resources and websites to use for further investigations of ocean animals.

    21. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the images were bright and colourful, the facts and details were just right and we learnt things as we went through the book - definitely one to keep and refer back to - very good indeed.

    22. This colorful book is bound to be a hit with readers! The "just like me" tidbits really make the book relevant and fun. Thanks to Time, Inc. for making it available to Netgalley.

    23. This resource book about ocean animals provides information in "bite-sized" pieces with excellent photos and graphics.

    24. She absolutely loved it. She loves learning about animals and the pictures made it wonderful! So much color.
