    1. This book was recommended to me by a friend. I was told that I would totally love it and would not be able to put it down. Well she was right because I can honestly say this is the first book I have picked up and could not out down for ages. Every chapter ended with a cliff hanger and leaves you itching to know what happens next. The story flows so well and keeps you hooked.I loved all the characters in the book and I loved the way the author merged the two stories that were happening with the m [...]

    2. Reviewed on behalf of Readers' FavoriteEmma Corray’s novel, Struck, is an intense look at the life of Jodie. Married to an emotionally abusive and controlling man, Jack, who also leans towards physical and sexual violence as well, Jodie resorts to drinking to numb the pain. Jodie works hard to keep her husband happy in every way. Her best friend wants Jodie out of the situation even more, and offers her a job at the local hospital painting a mural, which she must hide from Jack. However, when [...]

    3. Absorbing and entertaining. This book is set in the North West of England and tells the story of a mother Jodie who's long married life has been under the control of her violent husband, Jack. Their son CJ and his best friends are bullied at school. Without giving too much away and spoiling the plot - both mother and son find ways to deal with their tormenters. This novel is descriptive well written. It reads like a film playing out in your head. It offers just about everything you would expect [...]

    4. This was a fast paced read and packed with lots of stuff. Not YA. A real page turner. It was the book cover that caught my attention and so I googled reviews and was told that I wouldn't be disappointed. And this is true - I really enjoyed it.

    5. Brilliant. For a first time writer, Emma has produced a first class novel. Well written, can't wait for the sequal.
