    1. Have to say I had a love/hate thing going on with this book. It is well written and the last half of the book really picks up and becomes interesting, but I found the main character Glome hard to like simply because I have a seething hatred for Christianity. He starts off a half heathen and then becomes a christian, so lots of praying, thanking christ, or building churches, etc. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
