    1. Couldn't stop readingThis book was an excellent read. Whenever I thought the young adults were going to get away, something else bad happened to them.

    2. Well doneThis story is an action packed thriller.a group of young people stop at a farm house seeking shelter from a storm. They get way more than they bargained for.

    3. This book reads like a movie. Mullaney begins by throwing the reader into the action, dropping you right into what's going on after the group has ended up at the house that changes everything. The action in this book is nonstop, and the suspense is at a high the entire time, much like with a thriller film. The story is written almost in two different points of view - one from Samantha and one from everyone else. While the entire novel is actually in third person, Samantha's chapters have a stream [...]

    4. The storm is swiftly becoming treacherous. The sooner the better, Samantha acts―to help her peers make it out alive―the better. She is their sole redeemer. Samantha figured that a week vacation at the shore would be a perfect rejuvenator. It would be the textbook way to wind down, put behind her what transpired and set the pieces of her puzzling life back together. Calm before the Storm recalls 4 friends venturing a distance to relax and vacation only to learn that their caper is disrupted w [...]

    5. This book had enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed how it started right off with the horror so to speak and kept going. I feel that the author did well with telling about the young adults involved in the entire book and about Michael who is the murder. I feel that it would of been nice to know if Tom and Sam get together at the end with everything they went through. If it wasn't for Sam all of them would of died, but she was able to help save some.

    6. This was a quick, entertaining read. The friends caught in the house were all distinct and interesting characters, and the author did a great job of keeping the reader guessing about what was going to happen next, particularly as he switched between the dangers of the storm and the dangers of the man holding them hostage inside the house. This would make a great movie as well. All in all, it was a satisfying read from a promising new author.

    7. Calm? Anything but. This thrill ride grabs you by the throat and doesn't let up until the very end. I'm very grateful to have met Mr. Mullaney online and to have a chance to check out his debut work. In what reads like a movie, this book is one that will keep you guessing. I honestly had no idea who would live or die and that suspense kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Well done, sir.

    8. Storm of your Life! This book was about friends getting lost in a storm. The safe haven they found turned out to be worse than the storm outside. In looking for help, they find crazy evil in the name of Michael. He is very unhinged. As they try to figure out how to free themselves, it gets even worse. A good book with a lot of violent acts.

    9. Suspenseful ThrillerThere was plenty of suspense, and thrills and chills to satisfy in this book, and it is relatively brief, so it can be read in a very short time. There were some awkward word choices that made the text slow down in a few places. This could be helped by an editor, but overall it was a quick fun read.

    10. Nailbiter! This one truly is book you cannot put down. A very clever ,realistic story that will keep your heart racing and fingers turning pages. Recommend to anyone who likes mysteries and lots of suspense.

    11. Man vs. Man vs. nature. A dark scary thriller set against the backdrop of a furious storm. Mullaney effectively ratchets up the tension and puts his characters through the wringer. An entertaining nightmare for a stormy night.

    12. Inner strength and determination released.Started reading this and could not put it down. Finished it in one reading. Very entertaining and full of suspense.

    13. Very captivating bookCouldn't put it down! Got my heart rate and blood pressure up throughout most of this awesome book!! Can't wait to find/read more work by this writer!!

    14. It was a decent read and the author told it well, but I just wasn't as enthralled in it as I should have been. I'm not really sure I understood the motivation behind the villain either. At any rate, I would have given it a 3.5 if there were half ratings.

    15. DepressingToo much rain and didn't like the characters. Samantha continually blames herself for everything that. Happens to her friends . I do not recommend this book.

    16. This is a very well written book, a very good exercise in writing, the author is undeniably talented and knows how to keep the reader reading. But this is a very unpleasant book.I can't get past the point of "why would anyone want to write this?" let alone read it. I kept waiting for something to develop with regards to the storm outside, or the storm inside the villain’s head, but nothing came. The book is this depiction of some very bad hours spent in the wrong place by some people we aren't [...]

    17. Good bookWould give it a 3.5 if that were an option. Very suspenseful and entertaining. Liked that you didn't know who would survive until the very end. Wish it would have been longer.

    18. Pretty good storyA group of friends suddenly thrown into a terrible situation. Fast paced story with interesting characters. Maybe a road trip isn't a good idea
