    1. I wavered between a 2 and a 3 rating for this. While I like second chance stories and “the one who got away”, this didn’t feel quite like that because Jared’s explanations and actions didn’t make enough sense to me. While in high school Seth was bullied and had only one real friend, Jared. When an incident at a party shows him exactly what he doesn’t have, he leaves for college and is away for eleven years (and I questioned, did he never visit his much-loved parents during that time? [...]

    2. While I love reunion stories, there was just a bit too much drama and misunderstandings for this story to work for me.

    3. I squirreledTrue facts. I was looking for another book that I thought was on my e-reader and this one caught my eye. Couldn't find the other book because as I discovered I hadn't actually put it on my e-reader. So I've remedied that problem but in the meantime this was a fairly short read at about 130 pages so I carried on.'Always Been You' ended up being a good read as opposed to the awesomeness that I had been hoping for. The premise was sweet two guys in love with each other one gay and of co [...]

    4. A sweet story of love, trust, betrayal and reconciliation, Always Been You makes us think of the what if's in our lives. and wish. The BlurbSeth returns home and Jared is determined to finally make Seth his. Unfortunately not everyone wants that to happen.Seth Hall returns to his hometown for the first time in eleven years. Now a father of two, he vows not to let his past intervene when he sets up a happy, stable life for them. That is, until Jared, the boy who had broken his heart all those year [...]

    5. Oh dear. I had trouble finishing this; in consequence it took me ridiculously long to read. For about half of it I was taking notes, writing even more than I usually do about all the ways this does not work for me… But then I realized it’s not worth the effort.Let’s get this straight. This is a hetero romance of old school, where one of the guys is the smug, powerful hero who manages everything about the woman, is possessive and forceful as hell, and smiles at his little woman’s antics or [...]

    6. An ok story even if I do not like the executions.Seth seemed weak willed from the start. Which seemed to compliment Jared's take charge manner. I would have preferred that he became angry when his children were threatened, became a protector, not panicked and curled up He should have think of the children. And there was an odd incident that I am not sure about (view spoiler)[When Jeff showed up at the party and Jared met him with Seth, Seth was perplexed at Jared's icy demeanor. This happened aft [...]

    7. The blurb sounded interesting and thankfully ARe provided an excerpt. I couldn't even get through that. There was already a mistake in the first sentence and the first few paragraphs were just dreadful.Put it on my nope-shelf so that I won't accidentally buy this sometime in the future!

Now he’s starting a new life with his children and starting up his new bakery, when his long ago crush walks back into his life. 9. Both Seth and Jared were sweet together. However, I couldn't get myself to like Seth! He just lacked strength in his character even after the trials he had been through. The story had some overly dramatic scenes, not to mention the break neck pace of their reconciliation and then being in a relationship. The bed scenes were HOT, of course, but I still think they moved too fast. Becky came out a little like a 2D evil witch stereotype. Seth's parents and Izzy were very nice and supportive, I loved [...]

    10. This is the first book that I have read from this author and I was so pleased with it. I wish that it can become a series. I can see so much potential for it. A little bit of young love lost and gained again, suspense, two shootings and a wedding. Great read.

    11. Schöne Liebesgeschichte mit einer Portion Action und Drama. So viele Missverständnisse. 11 Jahre einfach verloren. Aber das Ende ist SO schön!

    12. 3.25 stars probably, but not more.I really wanted to like this more but it just felt too rushed and too slow at the same time. Either it was a tragic misunderstanding that left both men heartbroken for over a decade.or it wasn't - the speed of their reunion, dates and sex say it wasn't so traumatic as all that. The incident (view spoiler)[ shooting that killed the kids parents and injured Seth(hide spoiler)] enabled Jared to realise his true feelings but he completely and utterly avoided Seth fo [...]

    13. I loved Always Been You. This story is well written, I laughed, I cried and even held my breath at times as I shared the emotions of the characters and their journeys. Seth Hall’s high school days were some of his worst. Being the brainy, gay kid in school doesn’t always bring the best out in people. The one thing he thought he would always have though was Jared, even if he could only have him as a friend.Jared Stewart was the typical high school jock, great looks, great body and popular. Ja [...]

    14. Quiet a lot of drama and misunderstandings, luckily there were just memories from the past and it was when both were young and immature. The story now is set 11 years later and I really enjoy how this 2 characters at last got together.

    15. This was such a sweet romantic book. I absolutely fell in love with these characters. Different from her first book, but I love Jess Buffett's stuff. Can't wait for her other ones!

    16. 3 1/2 starsNot a bad story. A little too sappy at points, but there's just enough angst to balance without going too far.

    17. Why on earth do I not check if I had read this book before? Learned my lesson. Everything happened so quick and found it unbelievable.

    19. This is a good solid read with a lot of heat, angst and tears. Seth and Jared were sort of friends in high school, but then were driven apart. Now, eleven years later, the two reconnect when Seth returns to his home town after a near fatal shooting. Because of that event he has also become the parent of two kids, Ally and Lucas. The kids are biologically his, but who were supposed to get adopted by his friends who couldn’t conceive, but who died in the accidental shooting. Seth is starting a n [...]

    20. 2.75 starsSeth is determined to make a new life with his two kids once he returns home after being away for 11 years. He never forgot the boy he fell in love with and when Jared comes back into his life, all his feelings, doubts and hurt come back full force. Jared lost his best friend eleven years ago and when he almost lost him two years ago he vowed to make Seth his once and for all. Now that he's come back to his life Jared is not missing his chance to be with Seth. Is the bond they forged a [...]

    22. I enjoyed this friends-to-lovers story. I liked the characters and felt sympathetic to their plight. Back in High School, Seth and Jared were on the verge of acknowledging how they felt about each other, when events drove them apart for eleven years. The plot had some good elements. However, I do think this book didn't fully live up to it's potential. There was opportunity to provide more depth to the characters, to share more of what happened in the time they were apart - a lot would have happen [...]

    23. Too sweet and sugary even for me. The premise is something I am interested in. I like series and a lot of the characters in the series were intriguing, but but.I could not sympathize to Seth. He ran away from his perceived problem instead of confronting it. For a guy who claimed that Jared was his best friend and a good boy, he readily believed what his bully said and made decision for his future based on that. I could justify that stupidity with the fact that he was a teenager that time. And we [...]

    24. overall, i liked this story. there were good and bad pieces to it though. i love friends to lovers and i love second chance romances. this had both. what i don't love is the second chance having to happen because of misunderstandings, miscommunication and partially because of malicious acts of others. i also thought their reunion was a bit rushed. there was a lot of hurt and 11 years to build up that hurt and yet it seemed they forgave each other overnight, which is another piece i had a hard ti [...]

    25. In a word: Maybe read the thing. I did like this book when I first read it months ago, but I didn’t much enjoy reading it for a second time. Not that it’s a bad book or anything, it’s entertaining and I did enjoy it for the most part, but it’s not really something I’ll be reading again. It’s got a great premise: two men who were torn apart by misunderstandings finally coming together years later and sorting themselves out. The angst and pining were amazing (if that’s the kind of st [...]

    26. FourStarsI really loved this book! Both of the main characters were well developed, attractive and interesting. I loved the town, the bakery and the kids. The time changes worked well. I liked seeing Jared and Seth as boys and then as adult. The author allowed readers to fill in the missing time at the same time the characters did which developed suspense. This is a Nora Roberts-style gentle, cultivated New England romance full of big supportive families and quirky minor characters. It is not er [...]

    27. I’ll start off by admitting I wasn’t able to finish this book. It started off with a good premise. Two teenage boys who are best friends, one is openly gay, the other undecided. But then a misunderstanding makes the two of them not speak to each other for a decade. Majority of the book is about them getting back together ten years later.I found it really hard to believe that these two boys who were so close stayed apart for ten years. I could buy a year, at most. But ten just make it unbelie [...]
