    1. The first book in this series, Sensible Shoes, was one of my favourite books of 2014, and this picks up where that one left off. The four main characters are so different from each other, once again I was amazed by how easy it was to relate to each one of them. I especially like the tension between how they think they should behave and whether it's the response their heart tells them is right. These are definitely Christian novels, with God's subtle workings in the hearts of individuals at their [...]

    2. I'm glad I read this follow up to Brown's earlier novel "Sensible Shoes". This novel delves deeper into the lives of the characters, developing their conflicts, personalities, and establishing a launchpad for the next in the series "Barefoot". Readers of the first in the series will be surprised to find that this book is less about the Spiritual Journey and more about carrying Spiritual practices into every day life, especially when those every days get messy. I'm glad Sharon took us deeper into [...]

    3. Beautiful sequel to Sensible Shoes. Once again filled with a food for my soul and new spiritual disciplines to discover with these precious characters.

    4. Just as good as the first! I can identify a little with each of the four characters. I love that I get a spiritual workout too when I read these books. I learn so much from each of these books, and when I finish each book, I think of who I want to share or pass these books onto. Definitely a book that will stay with me throughout my life.

    5. This second book of Ms. Brown did not disappoint me. In fact, it will be one I suggest to the very small online Bible Study Group I am participating in. I am able to see myself in each of the characters, and it made me desire even more to develop the characteristics of Katherine continue to see the presence of God in my life no matter what the circumstances, and to know that I am never alone. What I felt this book did for me in my journey was give me tools for my toolboxThank you Ms. Browny God [...]

    6. I loved Sharon's first book (Sensible Shoes) so much that I read it three times in about 8 months - it had so much to say to me and helped me grow so much spiritually. I was not disappointed with "Two Steps Forward." Seeing more growth in Hannah, Charissa, Meg, and Mara was encouraging to me and helped me look at some hard places in my own life and spiritual growth. I can't wait to see what happens to them next.

    7. I appreciated the authenticity of the women and the realities of their life issues. Well written, narration added admirably in establishing personalities. Spiritual direction sessions, a unique opportunity to experience first hand.Series recommended.

    8. This book and its predecessor, Sensible Shoes, are novelsbut so much more than that. From both, I learned principles and practices of spiritual growth which challenge me and which I want to incorporate into my life. The people in the stories are very real, with real problems and not always easy solutions. Not everything is neatly wrapped up by the end of the book kind of like real life!

    9. Second book in the series - I loved getting reacquainted with the characters. I read the book so fast! It didn't have as much depth in the second book in terms of spiritual formation, however, I felt a part of their lives.

    10. If you want to see what it looks like to take spiritual disciplines seriously, or what it might look like if you tried to live them out, this is a great series for you. Continues the stories of the ladies from the Sensible Shoes club and challenges them in ongoing relationships and ongoing growth.

    11. Continuation of an excellent storyYou find yourself getting involved in each woman’s challenge at meeting and accepting God at their situation. I would recommend this series to anyone struggling to find a path to go deeper with God.

    12. Just a phenomenal book seriesis is book two and I've already purchased the third book. Brown shares about growing in faith through the stories of four women and their triumphs/struggles.

    13. Don't read this as a novel. As a spiritual discipline guide, it's fabulous. I kind of wish we'd done this with our Bible study group.

    14. Finished this one a little quicker than Sensible Shoes. Again it was wonderful! Can't wait to get started on the third book!

    16. An exceptionally great sequel to the Sensible Shoes book! I love the way that Brown weaves together a fictional tale with real applicable ways to deepen your relationship with God!

    17. I inadvertently picked the perfect time of year to start this book: Advent. It may become a seasonal favorite, though I think you'll still love the story no matter the time of year.

    18. Must readGreat book! I recommend reading study questions as you read. Book is real life scenarios. Things that you may be experiencing, have experienced or have know someone who lived through something similar. Thought provoking. Challenges you to grow with God.

    19. I live in West Michigan where the author lives and where the books are set. I had the privilege of being able to visit a book club where she was the special guest. There were only 10 or so women there. What a treat to be able to talk to the author so intimately. This drama series follows the same 4 women. I think the writing is a little fluffy, but it is quick and fun to read. Boy is this author an excellent preacher and spiritual director!!!She has wonderful study guides in her books that are bi [...]

    20. I was SO EXCITED to discover that there was a sequel to Sensible Shoes while browsing the local B & N last night-- I bought it and finished it within 24 hours!! The story picks up right where Sensible Shoes left off, what I loved about it, was the realistic storylines of these four women-- life doesn't immediately become roses and sunshine immediately after going deeper in one's relationship with Christ-- but it shows how much stronger we are with that relationship. This also proves the need [...]

    21. The women from Sensible Shoes are taking their next steps in the spiritual formation journey. But each of them is finding roadblocks along the way. Meg, a widow and recent empty-nester, is off to see her daughter in London. But what does hope look like when nothing goes as planned? Charissa, a conscientious graduate student, is battling to let go of control and embrace her unexpected pregnancy. But what does hope look like when transformation is slow? Hannah, a pastor on sabbatical, is trying to [...]

    22. I love this book. I read the first one-Sensible Shoes the end of 2015 and fell in love with the characters. Four women with different backgrounds and problems become good friends and support one another thru an unplanned pregnancy, an abusive husband, an empty nester and a pastor trying to find out who she is without her church. I hated for this one to end and can't wait for Barefoot to come out so I know what happened to the girls. Besides being a great read, that was hard to put down, it is a [...]

    23. I loved Sensible Shoes, the first book in the series, and Two Steps Forward is even better. Now that the characters have been developed, Sharon Brown delves deeper into their individual stories and binds them together at the soul level. I also thought that it was a beautiful serendipity that I read this during Advent, as the story takes place in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Thank you, Sharon, for sharing these meaningful, worshipful stories.

    24. Nice continuation of Brown's first book, Sensible Shoes. This sequel allowed readers to see how each woman had to apply the spiritual disciplines and revelation received in the first book to sticky situations in their lives. I appreciated how their lives were real, not sugar-coated, and the outcome of their trials was not neatly packaged but realistic and relatable. I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the series late this year.

    25. Meg, Charissa, Hannah, and Mara are friends who are helping each other persevere in hope and faith when life throws obstacles in the paths they have chosen. I wasn't ready for this book to end and will have to wait until the next book comes out in 2017. This book would make a great book club book as it includes a companion guide for prayer and conversation in the back.

    26. Not being a very spiritual and have to say that I was very surprised with "Two Steps Forward". It was a very nice read that I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Great Job!! I won this on GoodReads and like I do with most my wins I will be paying it forward by giving my win either to a friend or library to enjoy.

    27. Excellent, spiritually upliftingEvery bit as good as Sensible Shoes! I cannot wait for the next one. There are not many novels out there which have the characters on a spiritual journey
