    1. Wonderful story of second chances and new beginnings. Cruz has just been released from spending twelve years in prison thanks to trying to help a friend. He has no home, no job, and little money. He's met at the gate by an old friend who gives him the things Cruz inherited from another friend who wanted Cruz to get back on the rodeo circuit. As Cruz drives toward the location of a rodeo, he stops to eat a small cantina. There he meets Sara, a single mother who needs help with repairs to the prop [...]

Cruz Rivera can't catch a break and feels maybe he doesn't deserve one, but staying out of trouble and getting back on the rodeo circuit might just find him finally heading in the right direction.Sara is ready for a change. Trying to get her father in-law to move back home with her so she doesn't have to worry about him would help with that change. She doesn't plan on falling for Cruz, but after being alone for over a year she realizes [...]

    7. This was a wonderful first book in a new series for Marin Thomas and one that will definitely not disappoint. This book is about Cruz who is an ex-con and Sara and widowed mother of a little girl. This book was about second chances for both these characters, a second chance for Cruz to get his life back on track and find his way and for Sara to find love again. 8. Marin,in my opinion, has once again written a story that keeps tugging at your heart strings with the situation Cruz Rivera finds himself in since he went to prison 12 years ago to help a friend. When he sees widow Sara Mendez needs help, he is torn between helping her keep her family together because it feels the closest to having a home he has ever had and trying to keep his distance because he feels he isn't worthy of her with his record becomes harder and harder for him since he is the only [...]

    9. What a wonderful read? Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what was going to happen. The characters were so well written that I felt like that I was a part of the story itself. I can envision Sara and see through her eyes. Seeing how Cruz was so lonely and tormented by his past that she managed to break through the walls.I cannot wait to read more of Marin's books. Cruz has spent the last 12 years in prisonfor protecting his friend. Once he's releasedfrom prison he seems so lost. At 31 years of agehe felt his dreams of being a rodeo star are goneand has no direction. Yet the direction has brought him to Sara who lost herhusband to a gang shooting. A gang that Cruz is all too familiarwith and her daughter Dani and very stubborn fa [...]

    13. This was a wonderful romantic story. I loved how the author worked with a convict and just turned his life around. There were a few things that I was worried about for that convict that didn't happen and by the end of the book was so glad that what I thought would happen didn't. I was rooting at the end of the book as I was so happy. This was a home run for Thomas!

    14. Set in New Mexico:-)!!!!! My heart just about broke for Cruz! Can't wait for the next book in the series.

    15. Cruz Rivera gets a second chance at life. He spends time in prison for a crime he didn't commit and becomes a champion rider for the prison. When he's released he's seeking a second chance at a nice life and a new job. Cruz stumbles upon a Mexican Cantina restaurant and finds a job there. Sara Mendez and her little daughter Dani are staying with her father in law Jose after Sara's husband passes. This is a great second chance at life and love romance!

    22. Cruz is out of prison. Why did the Prison Warden not get in trouble for keeping in prison longer than his original sentence???? Nice that the story ends well if not without a bit of justice along the way.
