    1. This is an unhappy book full of loss, misery and sadness. There wasn't a likeable character in it, and I felt guilty not feeling more sympathy for the main character. She was so aloof, detached and moody that she never really developed as a person to me. I'm not sure what the point of the story was--since nothing really changed and no resolution (happy or otherwise)was reached. Maybe I missed what the author was trying to say--but I just found it depressing.
