    1. I enjoyed this and actually laughed out loud a couple of times at agility references. I will read more of this series. Light easy reading.

    2. Another Donna Ball book that will appeal mostly to dog fanatics, such as myself. This installment of the Raine Stockton series with her golden retriever, Cisco, takes place at an agility trial. Agility trainers will appreciate the detail of Cisco's runs, but probably not be convinced of the possibility of a high-stakes agility cup. Anyway, it's a very short, fast-paced read (or listen, if you do audiobooks).

    3. It's hard to keep reviewing books in a series because if you like one, you probably like them all but in this series they just keep getting better. Maybe you have to be a dog lover to enjoy this one because it centers around dog trials but I loved it.

    4. High in Trial opens with a car wreck in 1992 and the arrest of Jerimiah Allen Berman, for a robbery turned murder. Moving into present day, we find our heroes, Raine and her golden retriever Cisco, in Pembroke, SC for the opening weekend of AKC competitive agility. The excitement is soon overshadowed by the brutal murder of another competitor. Back home in Hansonville, NC, Buck Lawson, Raine’s ex-husband, is acting as sheriff and receives a notification of Berman's release. A search to discove [...]

    5. This is the book that drew me to the series. But, I purchased all the books and have been patiently reading them in order. So excited that I reached this book in my readings and it did not disappoint. For anyone in the agility world, Ball is spot on in her descriptions. She brings such emotions to me, the reader, just in her descriptions of Cisco. Bullets are flying and yet Ball can capture the confusion on Cisco's face, and my heart drops as I can visualize him. Ball knows how to bring to dogs [...]

    6. I need to figure out the order in which the Raine Stockton books were published as I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Granted, the combination of dog, mystery and dog sports is enough to make me happy, but this book was well-written with some really great twists in it. I was positive that I knew who'd done it, but I was very wrong. Also, not everything ended up hunky dory - the ending left me wanting to read more. I can't stand it when everything is neatly resolved (or rushed into resolution) at the [...]

    7. She Never Lets You DownI just finished High in Trial, my heart beat isn't quite back to normal, but I can give a testimony to this series. A plus! As a lover of dogs, their training, the pride and love that they evoke for their human partners, I could relate to all that Raine experienced both logically and emotionally even though I know that being a dog lover, the two traits do not have the possibility of existing at the same moment in our minds; logic has to be the first instinct.Even if you ar [...]

    8. This latest book in the Raine Stockton Series is unputdownable! It was written in such a way that kept you wondering, “What will happen next?”I love the series because it is usually set in the mountains and it has wonderful dog stories. This book is almost all set in South Carolina as Raine takes Cisco to a Field Trial weekend.I loved reading about the field trials. It was almost as if I was there. I enjoy watching them on Animal Planet. The dogs and owners always look like they are having s [...]

    9. Another blue ribbon for this dog training mystery series.A fast moving mystery with heart. Despite paying attention to the two story lines I loved the surprises. Although the ending was satisfying, I can’t wait to find out what danger and happiness awaits Raine and hope that Cisco makes her proud. The agility scenes will have you looking for YouTube videos of golden retrievers and border collies whipping through their paces.

    10. What a story!I just finished reading this book. Your books are clean, fun and quite intriguing. I enjoy your books and can hardly wait to start the next one. Its also great to read about Cisco and the other dogs. As a dog owner and lover I can relate to the book. Thanks so very much. Your talent makes me wish I had just a bit of it. PDD.

    11. A good enough lightweight summer read. The action moves fast, but the characters are a little shallow. High in Trial is a middle book in a rather long series, so the character development presumably occurs over several books. Perfect summer reading fare. I don't *need* to read any more in the series, but if another book came my way I'd give it a try.

    12. High In Trial is an interesting book from the start. I learned much about dog trials which is something I am curious about. I enjoyed the book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs and wants a quick easy read. I will read more in this series by Donna Ball.

    13. 2014-01-25. This one was not my favorite in the series although still good. I didn't like the bouncing around of locale nor the countdown. Loved the agility trials. Definitely a few twists made for a suspenseful time and everything did tie in at the end. Good book.

    14. I'm stalled out at 12% because all of a sudden we're not 1st person Raine, but 3rd person Buck. I have loved all of these books, so I feel like I ought to trust the author, but Honestly I don't like Buck enough to care about his perspective. So, we will see.

    15. My only complaint with this series is that the books always end too soon and I have to wait for the next one! In this new book, trouble from the past finds Raine and Cisco as they compete in an agility show. Love Raine and her dogs!

    16. I've enjoyed all of the Raine Stockton dog mysteries but this is one of my favorites. Although it isn't an overly long book Donna Ball successfully interweaves several plot lines. I read this in one sitting.

    17. Great book. There were characters from the past. Ex-husband part of the story. A murder occurs which the character gets involved and almost gets shot along with her dog. Very enjoyable and easy reading

    18. This was a pleasant--only one murder--short--book about people and dogs participating in agility trials. There is some romance and the reader gets to learn something about this aspect of dog training.

    19. Really loved itI read this book in one sitting! Couldn't put it down. The characters and settings really grow on you so,you HAVE to know what happens next. So I'm going to read them right now!

    20. 3 1/2 stars. A fun, quick read. I could quibble over some of the agility/dog comments and descriptions, but I still enjoyed the book and will probably check out more books in this series.

    21. This was an easy to read book.I particularly enjoyed this book because of the dog show and the people in it. I would read another book by this author.

    22. Another fun bookLove the Raine Stockton serieseven learned a little bit about agility trials from this one.I want to get another dog after reading about Cisco!

    23. Dogs and a great mystery, what could be better? Had me fooled up until the end, with a little family twist and drama that I didn't see coming. Great series!!!

    24. I enjoy all the books I've read by this author that involve the dogs. Not being a dog person myself I really admire those who work with them so well and use them in rescues.

    25. Another great read in this series of Raine Stockton dog mysteries. This one gives yet more info on dog behavior & agility trials to be specific. A must for lovers of dogs and golden retrievers.

    26. Great new style! The answers are obvious, but remains a great, easy and fun read! One of her best in this series,
