    1. iBooks was promoting this one as a fun new YA book so I picked it up. Couldn't even finish it, it was that bad. The girls "chirped" all the time, the guys smirked and threw punches, and there were typos all over the place. Not to mention, the author set the book in California but is clearly British herself, and didn't bother to change any of the lingo or spelling (Tell me, what California 17-year-old wears jumpers and trousers?). There was no character development and the whole thing justcked. D [...]

    2. I haven't actually finished this book, but right now, I'm about to give up on it. Considering it's a Wattpad story, I'm not really surprised. Don't get me wrong,; for a story originally posted on a site like WattPad, this is good, and I'm not surprised at the number of readers that it has on that site. HOWEVER, I was hoping for something a little bit better than what I got. Allow me to explain. I didn't find this story on WattPad; my mom told me about how a 17 year old had gotten a 3-book deal w [...]

    3. This book was picked up by Random House after the popularity of it on Wattpad caught their attention. Beth Reekles lives in the UK and is seventeen years old. This is her debut novel. And, well, it could have been good. The story centers around Rochelle Evans. She's a popular girl but hasn't really been on dates, mostly because her best friend's big brother has been overly protective and threatens any guy that tries to date her. Which is strange, since being the brother of her best friend doesn't [...]

    4. This is more of a 3.5 than a 3.This book was pretty sweet.I'd recommend this book to younger teens. It's the kind of story I would have lapped up when I was thirteen and fourteen, very fluffy and girly.I certainly got exasperated at points. I couldn't understand why she (or anyone!) wanted to be with Noah: he was definitely a bully. Threatening and physically hurting other guys just for talking to her? I beg your pardon? He controlled her love life and she never even knew, then when she did find [...]

    5. I read this a few months ago, when it was already completed. Therefore, I didn't have to endure the suffering of waiting for the author to update.Wattpad has offered me a lot of stories to read; in fact, some of those I've read have been published. I'm surprised to find The Kissing Booth on (I'm not sure why), but it's here and I'm giving it 5 bright stars.Emotional fangirl:I don't know how I stumbled upon Wattpad, but I sure am glad I did. The Kissing Booth was one of the first few stories I'v [...]

    6. This book was pretty terrible. For many reasons. For brevity's sake, I will limit my review to one main reason it was terrible: it was written by a 17 year old girl. The writing was ok (I'm being generous, because she is after all 17.) The main problem is a 17 year old girl can't write realistic fiction realistically. The author writes about exactly the kind of world that a 17 year old THINKS they live in: no rules, no accountability, no consequences. A world where you get want you want, just by [...]

    7. I really did find this a fast, sweet romance. What kind of made me only give it 3 stars was how young the MC, Elle, was, and how she was doing things no 16 year old should. She was at parties until 2 in the morning, drinking, jumping up on tables and dancing in front of intoxicated boys, and having sex. Dude, I'm 17, and I can't imagine myself doing any of those things anytime soon. And her father apparantly had no problem with all that she was doing, even sending her with alcohol when she is un [...]

    8. Well yay, that sucked!Let me go look in the mirror to make sure I didn't pull all my hair outI'm exaggerating, of course. It wasn't really bad, I just didn't really like it.It was more or less flat and not too creative. everything was fine up until the actual kissing booth scene and then everything went steadily downhill from there as I lost my patience little by little. So just a quick overview so you know what I'm talking about:Rochelle is the main character. Her best friend is a boy named Lee [...]

    9. Reading all the other reviews for this book I am quite shocked as to wonder why people have rated it so poorly. The Kissing Booth was an easy read novel which I easily finished in a day. It is about a 16 year old girl named Rochelle, she also goes by the name Elle or Shelly. Rochelle & her best friend Lee have to come up with an idea for their booth for the carnival at school. After a lot of thinking they finally come up with the idea of creating a Kissing Booth. Lee has an older brother nam [...]

    10. (Disclaimer: I am not a part of the target audience for this book, being decades past my teen-age years. I am just someone who reads books from all genres.)I will start off by saying kudos to 17-year old Beth Reekles for being able to write a novel, and for being able to reach such a large number of readers on Wattpad. With that being said, what follows is a short review, because frankly, I feel like I've devoted too much time to this book already just by reading it and actually being able to fi [...]

    11. DNF 35% Mira, mira, mira.

    12. Yada yada. Another story I've read from Wattpad. Review later. Will try to be nice with this one.Edit 1:Just because a story is very popular in Wattpad, doesn't mean it's good.

    13. I think some of the things I'm going to say could be considered spoilers so that's just a forewarning in case they areThe main problems I had with the book are that about 2/3 of the way through the book everything hits the fan, which you expect to happen obviously, but for some reason everything flip-flops. All of a sudden Noah is the bad guy when Rochelle was the one making the stupid decisions. When he comes back, he's saying he'll "do it right this time" and he's the enemy to her dad and his [...]

    14. Younger readers dream I'm TEN PLUS years too late reading this book, it is a 'YOUNG' YA, the dialogue is cliched and storyline is predictable.SWEET, CUTE and FLUFFY - Quick easy read. Unfortunately I found the immaturity of the characters grated on me at points in the story The positives include well thought out plot, lovely ending, easy going read, a glimpse of first love.A young high school student falls in love with her best friends brother. Along the way the main character and her friends g [...]

    16. I picked up this book with feelings of jittery excitement and high expectations, but halfway through, I was already forcing myself to get the money's worth out of it by finishing it.It was not an easy task, trust me.Let me start by saying I am an active reader on Wattpad and I spotted this because it was a sample, saying it was published by Random Houses. I thought, "Wow what an achievement by a young writer" because most published writers from Wattpad were self published, not picked up by profe [...]

    17. Is another novel that has come to light as a result of Wattpad, that rancid nest of One Direction wank fantasies and low-grade Twilight offripping. And much like its fellow Wattpad stablemate The Dark Heroine it's by a teenager, this time one who glories in the name of Beth Reekles. That's not actually her name, her real name is Beth Reeks. I bet she got bullied at school. Yes. Beth Reeks. And so does this novel, which manages to make Mills & Boon look profound. Seriously. As such, given that [...]

    18. I had seen this book around but I wasn't particularly interested in it. The plot line isn't something I would usually go for. I stumbled across a book haul on youtube and saw this book and the booktuber (i think it was @inthebookcorner but I am not entirely sure) was explaining about how it was discovered on wattpad and a 17 year old girl had written it! After hearing that I immediately sparked interest. I didn't go hunting for the book but when I stumbled across it at the library, I just picked [...]

    20. After receiving a copy of this book on net galley I thought that I would give it a go with high expectations . I really liked the characters. Although, I thought the author could have used some more depth, especially, Flynn(Noah). He was supposed to be a huge “player” but we never see that side of him. Then there's Rochelle who is also called as Elle who has crushed on him forever but he’s never treated her like anything but a kid sister that is until the Kissing Booth at the high school ca [...]

    21. This book made me feel strangeIt was so freaking cliché that I was going to die.And kinda bad written. But sometimes it was very well written and well-thought.And the ending wasn't exactly a 'happy ending' so that was something that made me think:"Well finally something not cliché."Just saying that since I'm a at least two year Wattpad member I know how the books are like, always that cliché,I'm just saying that there are many similar stories there that could have been chosen,it wasn't that she [...]

    23. I'm so incredibly salty that I kept this book on one of my shelves for so long. This book survived unhauls for the past few years. Okay, because I honestly just want to get this book out of my life as quickly as possible, I'm going to just do a quick rant. There may be spoilers. There may be swearing. This review might not make any sense. (I'm sorry to my friends who had to live through my endless texts regarding this horrible experience.) So, there's this girl who has always had a thing for her [...]

    24. The Kissing Booth Let's start with that. It's just a big fat disgusting no. Do you know how excited I was to read this? All other commitments were abandoned for this! YOU BETRAYED ME. YOU HEAPED THIS SHIT ON ME. I AM DEEPLY HURT BY THIS BETRAYAL. Oh, you want to know why I've been left so wounded? I feel as if the author was being sneaky by pouncing on me with the mess that is Noah. I felt so uncomfortable reading about his and Elle's relationship, like honestly I felt like abandoning the book h [...]

    25. Ok. First of, when I saw that this book was being sold in bookstores, I was shocked. I read stories in wattpad, and I've read one of Beth Reekles's story; Rolling Dice. It was pretty good. Most parts of the story were in some ways unique. The lead character ended up with someone I did not exactly expect her to end up with. Her break up with her boyfriend was unanticipated and everything was I wouldn't say unpredictable but Perhaps it was not completely clichè. Unlike The Kissing Booth. So yeah, [...]

    26. (In the interest of fairness: I "read" this book with a young woman I tutor as part of a literacy program. Whatever issues ANY book has will inevitably be exacerbated when said book is slowly read aloud over the course of several months.)If I ever see the word "smirked" again, I cannot be held responsible for my actions. I'm pretty sure Noah "Flynn" Flynn smirked at least twice a paragraph for all 400+ pages. (The last-name-as-nickname was the most believable thing that happened in the entire bo [...]

    27. This one was 3.5 stars i think. The author has the potential there, definitely, but I think she needs to grow up and get some life experiences under her belt. 1) the parents in the book, are really unrealistic. every single parent was okay with underage drinking parties, hotel rooms after prom, spending the night at another guys house. 2) the kissing booth- really? nowadays i would pay you 600 bucks to shut the booth down, rather than encourage people to kiss random strangers. who knows where th [...]

    28. A friend wrote to me about this book as a motivational prod in the butt to get moving in writing my own (Thanks again, Mike!). It was motivational, all right. I had high expectations because the Random House person who picked this up from its Wattpad fame said the book "is in fantastic shape." Well, can't argue with that. If it's unedited, the grammar was certainly flawless. But it's obvious this was written by a seventeen-year-old who reads what most other seventeen-year-olds read these days (T [...]
