    1. This has to be one of the weirdest illustrative styles ever. I'm sure some people will find it hilarious, but it really creeped me out. I don't like the whole animal/human combo. Essentially this is an average story about a brother and sister, but with dog heads. Not my favorite

    2. William Wegman has written several books for children, but if you have children, you may recognize the stars of this book from Sesame Street. Wegman is not only an author but also a visual artist. He applies both skills to his newest book Flo and Wendell. The stars of this book are also based on the names of two of his beloved pets.In Flo and Wendell, Wegman tackles the topic of sibling rivalry at it's best. If you have more than one child this book will hit home. What Flo wants to do, Wendell d [...]

    3. As soon as I saw these dogs, I thought, "Sesame Street!" And this book is by the guy who did those S.S. dog things. However, this is different in the addition of painting to create the illustrated story. And it is so adorable--it is begging to be done in a storytime. Lap-reads will be great, too.2/26/14 Turned out to be Kids enter Zoo free day and I had 2 very talkative children of the 4, so it was pretty distracting. Oh well. In a small group like that, I let it go. I think they enjoyed this.

    4. I adored this book and know it is perfect for families with more than one child. The sweet differences between a brother and sister are totally typical yet adorable. Wegman's illustrations made with gouche on dog photographs are whimsical yet realistic -- think Maira Kalman-like illustrations with spunky characters like Ian Falconer's Olivia. This could be the beginning of a brilliant series. Please, Mr. Wegman?

    5. If only all sibling rivalry was this CUTE! Wegman goes back to his artist roots with this new book, combining his photos of his dogs with his painting. Each page is rich with color, expressive dogs, and a tale about a sophisticated sister and her little brother. You will see your kids in this. They will see their siblings. For those who are only children, they will see friends and cousins. This is a must have for all Wegman fans new and old.

    6. What an imaginative use of dogs as models for one's illustrations! This is a very charming story book of two siblings, Flo and Wendell, and their family. It has tons of art and imaginative, playful play, showing both contrasts and similarities between the two siblings. It is better suited for younger children (ages 3-6), and would be a good one to read over and over again.

    7. A Weimaraner household since 15 years now, perfect pet if he gets walked at least 2 times. And 45 minutes , off leash so he can run in the deep grassy, wooded areas, tired dog = Happy dog.William Wegman has made a lot of people smile! Adore his work, my grand kids will be reading this book for X mas!

    8. I picked this up for it's very catchy front cover, but I'm sad to report that it's not spectacular, just a quick fun read that requires very little thought. There are a couple classic moments of sibling rivalry within the pages, and the photos are often hilarious, but the good stuff is sadly few and far between, and very forgettable. I would say this one is just OK.

    9. The story is simple enough for beginner readers to read. The illustrations are what caught my attention. The illustrations have photos of a beautiful dog that looks like a Weimaraner. The rest of the illustrations are done in colorful gouache. Flo and Wendell are siblings; sometimes they play together, sometimes they don't.

    10. The illustrations are interesting with a combination of photographs and opaque watercolor. The pictures are really what sets this book apart. The text is nothing special but combined with the pictures is sure to get some younger readers giggling.

    11. THIS IS THE BEST PICTURE BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFEMAYBE IT'S BECAUSE I KNOW FLO AND TOPPER IN REAL LIFE BUT IT'S JUST SO FUNNY I READ IT 3 TIMES SUCCESSIVELY AND I ALMOST FELL OVER LAUGHING SO HARD IT'S SO GOODEVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS IMMEDIATELY OH MY GOD BILL I LOVE YOU

    12. I wish he would have used more of the animated images throughout the book rather than just the 2 at the end in the kitchen. This is a really cute story.

    13. Wegman's signature dog-oddities are only slightly less creepy with painted human bodies than real human bodies photographed.

    14. I swear my retriever has some Weimariner in him, so these books are a lot of fun with their oh-so-familiar expressions.

    15. The cutest children's book. I love the imperfect drawings, the simple page design and the story that melts your heart. Weimaraners are the perfect characters for this!

    16. Odd; the pages are drawn and then photos of dog faces are pasted in. This one is about the likes and often opposite like of the twon.
