    2. Calico Brides by Darlene Franklin. This Romancing America book contains four stories in one. We meet the Calico sewing circle, women that take on projects from the Lord to work as missions in the community around them. It doesn't hurt that along the way with them working for the Lord, he blesses them with a love of their life. These reads are short and sweet. They could be stand alone books, but best kept together.Book 1 - A Birthday Wish Gladys feels led to help Mr. Keller. He hardly leaves his h [...]

    3. 4 starsCalico Brides is a collection of stories about the Calico sewing circle women. The younger women of the circle want to do missionary work closer to home. They each take a cause they can work on throughout the year. Through their local mission they find husbands along the way.I came to care about all the different characters of Calico. It also makes me want to help more and in different ways. These are good clean reads. Each story can stand alone but better read together.A Birthday WishGla [...]

    5. Calico Brides by Darlene FranklinRealy nice sweet stories of how God can use us in our own "backyard" so to speak. While ministering to those in China and around the world gives us a name and a reputation, helping those close to us gives us a better place to live in. I loved the stories even thou the first one about Gladys and Haydn had me confused on time frame (Christmas and Easterseend seemed to happen in a span of few weeks) and few moments that were over the roof ( i would die of emberaseme [...]

    7. 3.5 Stars This is the story of four friends who each take on a “project” to help a person in need. The book tells the short story of each of them as they do their good deeds. What I liked: The stories where interesting and I liked all the characters. I also liked how all the stories where tied together and each story followed the other so it felt more like one book then four short stories. What I did not like: Being short stories I know that the development of each of the separate stories is [...]

    8. This was an enjoyable book that combined four separate, yet interwoven stories. Four women in a sewing circle decide to bless those in need. Each woman finds a different project (person or family) to help. The stories were easy to read and well written. While all were a little predictable, that was not a bad thing. I did enjoy this book and it was fun to have all four stories continue from one to the other. All of the stories did a good job of showing God's love and provision for everyone. All o [...]

    9. I randomely picked this up at the library one day. It just wasn't that great of a book :( This book is about 4 friends and each on of them has their own short story. In each of the four stories, you know how it is going to end by the 4th page. I found myself speedily skimming these stories because they were very dry and boring.

    10. A wonderful God centered book full of life and wonder. My only problem is that ititv had to end! I felt the characters were memorable but not very deep. I really enjoyed the plot and would recommend this book.
