    1. Thought I might use it for an illness themed story time, but I just didn't enjoy it. The illustrations aren't my favorite and the rhymes and overall storyline just feel a bit odd and forced.

    2. A rhyming tale of what if Mama Bear were a doctor and how she would treat all the sick animals who came to her if they ill, but she saved the best treatment for Little Bear. Great drawings using art markers, colored pencils, and crayons to illustrate this book.

    3. My whole family is sick right now, and I thought I had the perfect library book to read to my kids. Wrong!!The one good thing about this book is that it rhymes. That's it. I can't say anything else complimentary.I couldn't believe it when one of the first solutions Mama Bear has for one of her imaginary patients was to "bake them a cake full of pills." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!???There's even a picture of a chocolate cake with a bunch of pills sticking out of it!!I could go on about other things [...]

    4. Rhyming books are usually fun and great for storytimes, but I didn't care for this one. It was weird, and not necessarily in a good way. Baby bear keeps asking his mom (who might be a doctor, or he might just think she has all the answers) what she would do for various animal patients and their maladies. Some had fevers, some had sore throats, etc. Mama bear offers silly, rhyming answers, like a cold milkshake for a critter with a sore throat. I didn't particularly care for the illustrations, an [...]

    5. copyright 2011What a cute book for young children! In it, Little Bear asks his Mama what she would do if she were a doctor in a zoo and the animals were sick. He askes about each animal is the form of a rhyme (for example, the gnu has the flu or the chimp has a limp). Mama answers back in rhyme. The background pictures of the sick animal are drawn with color crayons and look as if a child has drawn them (actually, Little Bear has). In the end, Mama Bear reassures Little Bear that she'll take car [...]

    6. I have never heard of this book so I decided to read it, it is a good book. Very simple in how it is written. I like the idea of all the different animals in the zoo being sick and mama's idea of how to fix it. It reminded me of when I was a child and would ask the same type of questions. I liked how the author took into consideration what if the little bear became sick. Overall, a cute super quick read.

    7. Mama Bear provides perfect answers to Little Bear's questions. "If you were a doctor in charge of the zoo, what would you do if Gnu had the flu?" "If Gnu came to my office, with aches and a chill, I'd bake him a cake chockfull of pills." Kevin O'Malley's illustrations were done in art markers, colored pencils, and crayons.

    8. While having breakfast one day Little Bear and Mama Bear play a game while he is coloring. They pretend Mama Bear is a doctor and Baby Bear colors a picture describing how she would treat each ailing animal. There is lots of rhyming and the pictures are charmingly child-like.

    9. Story of a Mama Bear and her cub talking about how she would take care of everyone in the zoo if she were the doctor. This book has lots of rhyming that is fun to read to the children. The pictures are also interesting because they look like they have been created my a child.

    10. If you have to use the word "puppet" as a verb to make your rhyme work, then maybe you shouldn't be writing in verse. Also, a young bear states his desire to drug his friend with a cake full of pills, which is the only thing that makes this book worth reading.

    11. Little baby bear wonders what his mother would do if different animals got sick and then finally himself.

    12. A small bear asks his mother about how she would treat the various zoo animals of a variety of ailments if she were the zoo physician.

    13. My kids were insulted and annoyed by this book. They were hoping it would tell how she doctored the animals but it is a bunch of silly rhymes instead.

    14. Cute book with lots of rhyming and a warm ending about how Mama bear would take care of baby bear if he ever got sick.

    15. This rhyming book felt a little too forced to me, as if the author just had to think up as many illnesses as she could to make a book.

    16. Reminded me of Numeroff's series "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" only Ketteman answers Little Bear's question of how she would handle different ailments.
