    1. Honestly, the blurb is the most interesting thing about this book. If I’d had another book available to me at the time I was reading this, I wouldn’t have finished it. Extra innings at my daughter’s softball game is the biggest reason I did. It’s not like there isn’t potentially interesting stuff that happened. Rachel is a forty-five year-old widow who has only just discovered that her husband emptied their bank accounts right before he died suddenly, leaving her in the middle of their [...]

    2. This review is from: The Mitchell Money (The Martinson Ranch) (Kindle Edition) The Mitchell Money is a terrific read. I loved it. Rachel Mitchell is finding her way again after her controlling husband dies suddenly. Mitch had always told Rachel she'd have plenty of money if he were to die. But she finds herself penniless. Mitch hid the money, and he hid a lot of other things too. Desperate, Rachel gets a job as a cook at the Martinson Ranch owned by Gary Martinson and his son Joe. Gary is a wido [...]

Some of those secrets happen to come out when the person is dead, leaving behind a mind of chaos and wonder to those who knew the deceased, but didn't know their secrets.Rachel was married to Mitch for over 20 years. He wasn't the best husband, but they made it work. Though after his death, Rachel struggled both financially and emotionally. Her late husband drained the savings accounts and left Rachel stranded. She's hired to work as a cook for some neighbors. In re [...]

    4. I have enjoyed every book that I've ready by Sue Fineman. They are just really nice, interesting stories about people coping with life and, as works of fiction, they have happy endings. I read for the joy of getting lost in a different reality. With this book, as with any really good book, I could completely relate to the heroine. I have an intimate understanding of her feelings and as she interacts with other characters, I find myself hesitating as she makes decisions I might not be brave to ma [...]

    5. The Mitchell Money was a delightful, easy read. It had the essense of a Hepburn and Spencer movie. With the exception of one secondary character who I would've liked to killed off myself, I loved the characters. The author kept the twists coming. A good read for a lazy summer afternoon.
