    1. Sorensen's A Large Harmonium is a lovely book and a quick read. Sorensen's humour and witty outlook on life shine through with each page and her account of married life is spot-on. I really enjoyed reading a book about a female english professor whose stream-of-consciousness narrative always kept me interested. Janey is a refreshing heroine and a character you will come to love. I definitely recommend this book.

    2. Janey and Hector are professors, married with a three year old son Max. Janey's musings about balancing careers, romance, sanity and a child are refreshing. Hector relives his single life when his bachelor friend Jam visits town and Janey questions whether her husband is having an affair. Janey is overwhelmed when summer vacation arrives but feels like she needs to keep busy and productive by writing a book or conference paper in order to progress in her career and also by over extending herself [...]

    3. Well written, beautiful language, a flowing story with fascinating characters. All this and Winnipeg too. This was really enjoyable.
