    1. This book is so amazing, and I learned so much from it about how to teach science and math to students. A lot of math and science learning is formulated, constructed, and reflected on while writing. So a great way for metacognitive learning of math and science is to write about your learning! Roberta also shares many tips she uses in her middle school science classes, and touches on the importance of good "coaching" and scaffolding in increasing student independence and understanding. Great book [...]

    2. The book has several good activities that teachers can use right away in the classroom. I read this for professional development with a small cohort of teachers. I think the authors had practical suggestions and activities.

    3. This book is chock full of awesome classroom strategies that can easily be adapted for a variety of subjects and ages.
