    1. Kobalenko gives us over 250 pages explaining how he is smart and strong and many previous explorers were dumb and weak. The appeal of the journeys dies quickly, as he goes to where other people did stuff, explains how they were wrong, and then reminds us that his travel is somehow more worthy because it was "hard". As he mentions in the intro, there is no narrative arc. Not much happens in the book beyond second-guessing others. Unless you are interested in Ellesmere, give it a pass, as there is [...]

    2. Fast paced and well written. I probably enjoyed it more because I'm going to Ellesmere Island. Worth a read though!
