    4. I love how Dr. El-Shamy has added Aarne-Thompson types and motifs for many of the tales in this seminal piece. Unfortunately Maspero's translations seem sometimes dated to me; for the two tales on which I most focused, "Sinuhe" and "Shipwrecked Sailor," I prefer the translations by Parkinson, Foster, or Lichtheim.
