    1. I'm not going to give a synopsis or cut & paste another's.You are warned: this book is not for those who faint (ever). This book is probably one of the most (definitely top 5) incredibly well written, best reads in the deep end of the BDSM/PNR genre I've ever had the pleasure of finding. And I read a LOT. One reviewer on Az called it Erotic Horror - that's an apt description.I stumbled across this title in a discussion forum, read the description and got the book almost immediately. HOLYBEJE [...]

    2. Let's not play around, here. The subject matter of this book is about as gritty and dark as they come. There's BDSM, torture, forced sex, and of course, blood. If you couldn't figure that out from the blurb, and these are your "trauma triggers," then you want something else. This book is about as FAR from fluffy as you can get. That being said, this is a sleek, scary, well-crafted read. Bianca Sommerland turns up the heat and the adrenaline to eleven and KEEPS them there. Both main characters are [...]

    3. This book was shocking and beyond violent. Just as I was becoming numb to the abduction, rape, and torture, the author changed things up on me and took the horror to a whole new level of psychological terror. I wanted to like the characters that were the victims, Joe and Lydia, but the author was just as mysterious with their backgrounds as she was with that of their captors. I wanted to see them free but didn't care about them as individuals. Lydia some how managed to come across as an immature [...]

    4. I am a meek. The biggest meek that has ever lived. There are warnings that this book is not for the meek. They are right about that._______Having read and enjoyed books that have protagonists dealing with violence, blood, and loss ALOT - this book made you feel every aspect of those three simple words down to the very frickin fiber of your being. The PUNCH in your gut when Mary and Joe I cannot even finish the words. That is how bad the scene effected me. Ugh. I'm not done with ranting about thi [...]

    5. I actually give this one 2.5 stars.Joe/Daederich and Lydia are held captive by vampires for their sadistic pleasure. They are held in a cell and are subjected to the most horrific torture, brutality and rape. I don't know why I picked it up to read (possibly the cover??) because it's way too hardcore for my tastes but I could have accepted it for what it is if the world in which it takes places were better described and explained but I really just didn't get it or even see the point. Each to thei [...]

    6. Actual Rating 2.5 starsIt is interesting. But there is some sort of emotional disconnection in the narrative that made me not being able to completely connect or relate to the characters and their circumstances. It is more like a window to what is happening to them, rather than an actual experimentation along with them. That distance prevented me from really feeling for them. Thus, I wasn't capture by the story. Towards the end the personality of the characters changed so drastically I though I [...]

    7. I've been told this is a frustrating book by friends. I can understand the frustration because there is very little we are given to understand. We are fumbling our way through the story. It feels as though large gaps are in the story. I'd say that the world building was sloppily done in some ways because we don't understand how everyone interacts and relates. We don't know how the world exactly works. Then again, I think this is was the intent. We are purely seeing it from the eyes of Lydia who [...]

    8. This is not an easy read. The violence is very real and as this is written in the first person, there is no escaping the intensity. I felt at times like hiding between my hands whilst I was reading it! But, I just *had* to keep reading to find out what happens next. The violence and the torture Lydia in particular has to endure, sometimes at the hands of Joe, is stomach churning. You can't help but admire her will to live and the lengths she will go through to protect Joe, even if ultimately thi [...]

    9. Well this was different. I don't usually read erotic horror but I enjoyed this book.Evil vampires torture people for entertainment and the entertainment seek their revenge . Definitely different. This was dark, twisted and a complete mind fuck. I loved it!I think I actually might have enjoyed this more if it was told from the POV of the vampires rather than the captives, my twisted brain was dying to know how they think and what they feel, or if they can feel anything at all. I also really liked [...]

    10. This was an odd one for me. I was expecting a controversial, seriously steamy story of a woman taken from her life, badly treated by her captors and falling helplessly in love with her cellmate. I suppose most of this is what I got, I thought it might be a difficult read, I just didn't think it would be difficult because I wasn't interested. At first I seriously considered giving up on it, the emotions between the main characters seemed forced/fake. After making myself read on, it becomes a lot m [...]

    11. WOWEY!! That was one very, hot, disturbing, steamy, terrifying, panty dripper of a book! I say this because while reading this book I was all those things at once. Each page that I turned took it beyond what I had expected the outcome to be. That said this is what made this book so awesome! This was no peaches and cream erotica. This was a nasty, gritty, heartfelt story that grips from beginning to end. I am not going to tell you anything about the book like I normally do in my other reviews this [...]

    12. Lydia wakes to find that she's chained down and blind. The only reference point she has becomes a man's voice and hands. She learns that they are required to perform in order to live. As long as the audience remains entertained, she will be allowed to live. This story is dark. There are warnings on it for a reason. If you are not prepared for this book, do NOT read it. There is horror and torture. There is also romance and many scenes are very erotic, even some your mind screams that they shouldn [...]

    13. 4 stars! This is a very dark story! You should take the warnings seriously!I have to admit that I didn’t realise what I was reading until I was really deep in the story. There is darkness and darkness and this story is one of the worst in the kind! The plot was surprising, intense, raw, violent and dark! Ms. Sommerland succeeded to change the mood from dark to light, from evil to light, from sad to happy just with the turn of a page! Unbelievable! When I was thinking that the worst part is over [...]

    14. "So I'm supposed to believe you actually want to die? That you've just given up?" "Why shouldn't I?" "Because you're still worth something."REread of this delicious non sparkly vampire book. I've somehow got myself into a book slump that very few books are penetrating through. I f**king hate it and canNOT wait for this sh*t to end. 😖This book is a whole lot of dark with a small taste of sweetness on the side but I'm warning you, it's like having to choke down fried tarantula so that you can g [...]

    15. 3 stars/ 2.5/5 C+I think this author has a lot of potential and I would read her again. However, I found this book kind of uneven and I couldn't buy into the motivations of the players and the back story. Things I really liked were the smooth dialogue and style of storytelling. Bianca Sommerland is a good writer. The first two thirds of the book took place with the protagonists imprisoned and tortured. Despite the horrible situation, the author managed to make a case for a caring relationship de [...]

    16. Wow! This is definitely the darkest erotica I've ever read. The story starts out with Lydia slowly learning the horrors of her new reality and trying to figure out whether she can trust Joe, her roommate to help them both escape. Bianca Sommerland wields her words effortlessly creating tension, palpable fear and characters you both ache and feel for. There were several scenes within this book that made me cringe, but I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next! Deadly Captive is n [...]

    17. FIRST: this book content is not for the weak at heart. Make sure you realize what you're getting yourself into before you start. If you're looking for a cute little romance, keep going. This content is rough, dirty and downright awful. Now, onto the review. Ohgoodness. I could NOT get this book out of my head. I had to split the reading into 4 days and let me tell you, it was difficult to do. The scenes were so raw I felt like I was walking around with open wounds. I really cannot recall reading [...]

    18. 4.5 STARSREADER BEWARE THIS STORY SEXTREME and DARK with HEAVY BDSM ELEMENTS, that could be triggers for some. This book is unquestionably written for the courageous, adventurous reader that is not opposed to extreme erotica with unusual sexual torturous situations including BDSM.The first page introduces the reader to a staged sex show for an enthusiastic arena audience under the direction of Cyrus, master in charge. Later we learn that the captive girl does not remember her past. She will event [...]

    19. A Recommended Read! Deadly Captive was dark, sinister, erotic, intense, sexy and dangerous. Wow! To read this review in its entirety, please visit darkdivasreviews/?p=5508

    20. I might change my rating at a later date, but even a day later I'm still in shock and don't know how I feel. On to the review:Well… what can I say… I don’t think I have the words, but here goes. This was hard for me to read, and by far the darkest book I’ve read to date. I knew I was in for a total mind fuck, but this… WOW! There were points I had to actually stop reading the book and set it down. At one point I thought I would have to stop when it really got to me BAD, but a few mins [...]

    21. It's so impressiv about what can happen in a locked room.I wasn't able to put down the book, I finished it in one night. And I really really love it.I have no problem with rape, blood, torture, but if you do, don't read it.The relationship between Joe and Lydia is not unquestionable eternal love thing. They didn't fall in love on first sight, they don't accept every mistake the other does. They fight, they love and they know they need each other, but not this total unrealistic "love is everythin [...]

    22. Y'all knew that I was pretty nervous about reading this book, I guess I'm a little more thick skinned than I thought because I was like "this is itwth did I work myself up for!" (view spoiler)[The 1st 60-65% of the book was good, at least enough to keep me interested and wanting to know what was gonna happen. I liked Joe right from the start, Lydia she didn't seem to upset about being captured and not having her memory. But I suppose she could have been thinking 'why dwell on stuff, I have no co [...]

    23. This book put me through the ringer. It enthralled me. It repulsed me. It held my attention, no question. It is interesting to me, the mix of reviews on this book. It is definitely one that will generate strong feelings, one way or the other. For me, it was part horror story, part action adventure suspense with strong erotic content. While there are definitely romantic elements, this is no romance. From the beginning, there are so many questions unanswered, it is as if you are suffering amnesia a [...]

    24. Twisted, dark and utterly hypnotic - amazing! Not a clue going into this book what is was about other than dark, and boy, did it not disappoint. I am not usually a fan of this genre, but I didn't even what the genre was until I was already hooked on the story. We start with Lydia tied down and a man with her, you think he is the bad guy, but he isn't, we learn they are both captives, and we follow their story as captives, and what a dark and twisted tale it is, but so amazing you can't even think [...]

    25. This is not erotic, it's not sexy, it's just the worst most, disturbing SHIT I've ever read. I finished 40% and I wish I wouldn't have read any of it. I'm very open-minded, but the situations in this book were twisted beyond reason. But what sucked was the emotional games the author played with her audience. I hated it. Two people kidnapped, falling in love, their captors slicing body parts and scarring the females face, getting eaten by vampire creatures. Then a young girl is thrown in the cell, [...]

    26. Group read for the BDSM group. A delectable blend of darkness. I absolutely loved Deadly Captive! Sommerland definitly pushed boundaries that left me captivated. I'm a sucker for anything dark and DC catered to that 100%. My only complaint is that the ending felt rushed. I still thoroughly enjoyed the ending but I would have been more satisfied if it was a little more drawn out. And with that cliff hanger! I sure hope she gives us more. I would definitly read a continuation.

    27. Ohhh come one This book had so much potential ! But the way it was written arghh is it just me, or are books getting really bad all of a sudden?I didn't mind the story line though, it was interesting. Vampires I haven't read a book with vampires in it for a while, so that was nice and refreshing

    28. Hard to say "really liked it" when it so disturbed me on a variety of levels. But the fact that it got to me means it was so well written. Great book but be warned that it is dark. If you can make it through the first twenty pages, you'll be fine.Full review at theromancereviews/rpoma72.

    29. This one is really dark and if you are not into it stay away. But I loved it. Made my stomach hurt when I read it because of some of the things she goes through, but I still found it hot

    30. Sick Vampires, and Wonderfully Dark Read! This book is defiantly not for the faint of heart. You got some sick and twisted Vampires who think humans are nothing put toys and they use Joe and Lydia in some very nasty and disrupting ways till Joe turns the tables on everything. Absolutely loved watching Joe and Lydia fall in love and work together through all of the nasty that's thrown their way and strive for more. This was an amazing read.
