    1. Mitchell's debut novel captures the charm, ignorance, and harsh primitive cultural behaviour of the early 20th century that we generally perceive. It is a little clich├ęd and even slightly caricatured at times but the story has a lean cut narrative written with a smooth easy flowing style devoid of any bloated details and moves the story along at a nice pace. The main focus of the book are on 3 female protagonists, two from 1910 and our time traveller from 2010 who is trying to fix a tragedy in [...]

    2. I won this book participating in a contest on the time travel book club and was excited to begin reading it. The book is by an author who lives in New Zealand. It has an element of time travel but no real explanation of why the time travel happens. It is more like magic. 3. I love reading books by NZ authors, set in locations that I know! This is a bit of a pot-boiler, but one that does draw the reader in. Even though some of the historical details are a little inaccurate, or dodgy, the storytelling flows well. kept me going to the (happy) ending.

    4. I highly recommend this book for anyone FTC: I received a free copy of this book and was not reimbursed in any other way.
