    1. An excellent text on botany, ethnobotany, and anthropology of Guam circa 1900s, shortly after the turnover of Guam from Spain to the United States. Long out of print, this is a high quality facsimile copy published by Guamology, and is one of my favorite books. Safford is an excelling writer, and I only wish it was easier to find his other texts of Guam. Most of them are published piecemeal in the Guam Recorder, or are in libraries and archives.
