Sadly, this book is significant mostly for its flaws.[return][return]This is one of the first book-length treatments of Marlowe's life, but was published before Leslie Hotson's discovery of many of the facts about Marlowe's death. Ingram's major predecessor was James Broughton, who published an excellent analysis of the known facts about Marlowe in the Gentleman's Magazine in 1830. Broughton's discovery of Marlowe's burial records led Ingram to publish a facsimile of the burial record in this bo [...]
