    1. Waldner is assuredly the poet of the unfolding prose. In other books she operates in this easy turn of phrase that can unexpectedly open the reader to an idea, a resonance that plays through other portions of the book. In Saving the Appearances that self-reference occurs most often between the traditionally lined poems and the prose.
