    1. I read this book for a class I took as an undergrad and it was taught by the author. I took this class in Fall 2004, when the United States had already been militarily engaged in Iraq for over a year and in Afghanistan for almost 2 years. We had truly frank and deep discussions in that class about the military-industrial complex, the neoliberal economic policies, the intertwining relationship and other related issues.
