Methodist Church in Scotland
We continue our journey into the future with our new District Development
At Spring Synod the Methodist Church in Scotland agreed to launch the 'District Development Consultation', through which we will explore issues of our church structures, resources and mission.
A project team was established at Synod to lead the District in a 'root and branch' review with the aim of working out a realistic new vision and practical ways forward. We cannot go on the way things are. Our structures are sapping energy and preventing us from being effective in our calling. Synod was unanimous that changes are needed, and lots of ideas were generated.
The project team is Bob Kelley, North of Scotland Mission circuit; Andrew Letby, Edinburgh & Forth circuit; David Rogerson, Central Circuit and Allan Loudon, Lanarkshire.
The team will be distilling ideas and setting in motion discussions in churches and circuits as well as here on our website. All our input will lead to proposals that will be voted on at the Spring Synod in 2011.
